I’m currently knitting a shoal of gansey-patterned fish that will be added to an international travelling exhibition. A collections of Dutch ganseys is visiting ten venues throughout Wales, Scotland, Ireland, the Basque Country and Netherlands. Each venue adds something to the exhibition. My shoal of knitting herring will feature a motif that would be found on an Eriskay gansey, a unique style of gansey from the islands where I live.

So happy to see you back!! What amazing footage. I felt like I was there. 😊. Last year when we went on a family trip I was too sick to go to the yarn mill I really wanted to go to so when my 12 year old son went to Walmart he bought me 6 huge acrylic skeins of the brightest colours. I am crocheting a blanket. That brings me joy cuz even though it looks so crazy he gave it to me with such ❤️ love

Hello from my happy corner in France, Dordogne. It's always a joy to watch your podcast knitting away on my favorite project. I hand spun some shetland wool into which I incorporated bits of colourful leftover yarns which create like a speckled yarn! I designed a tank top with simple lace panels running down the front and regular st-st to showcase the yarn 🥰💞 thanks again for a lovely time...🧶🧶🧶

I have two items on my needles at the moment that are bringing me joy as they are both for two of my grandchildren. One is for my 8yo grandson, called The Purple Dragon Jumper. It is an intarsia purple dragon knitted onto a mint green background in 8ply yarn. Mint green is his favorite colour! The other item is a Luuk hat for my youngest granddaughter who's nearly 2yo. The last year I've knitted all my children and grandchildren this hat for their birthdays. Apart from myself, hers is the last one. I've made hers mainly from all the Noro Silk Garden scraps from all the other hats. Everyone has really enjoyed getting them and I started out making them all one as they asked for them after seeing the first one I made for my son. This one will be my therteenth one I've km knitted ad i made one for a friend as well. They're definitely all knitworthy and I spend most of my time making mainly for my grandkids now! ❤ Can I ask what the name of the shawl/ blanket is on the back of your lounge in this podcast episode?

Hello, Lovely to see your podcast. I'm currently knitting my first Ranunculus with Disdero Ranch Romney Mohair Blend Worsted 3-ply, a lovely blend from British Columbia, Canada, which is where I live. This project is definitely bringing me joy. It's a beautiful day, the house is quiet, my husband is napping while he recovers from a nasty bike accident (he's going to be fine) and I hear the leaves rustling in the wind outside my window and the voices of children playing in the park. Thank you.

What is bringing me Joy is the outdoors and all the beauty of nature. I love being outdoors as well loving a glass of white wine seated with my needles and just listening to nature. Thank you Amy for such a full and interesting episode. I love that you’ve got the souvenir of a music playlist from your travels, and such an eclectic one too. The Gallus scarf is great. There are so many shawls out there that interesting scarf patterns don’t seem to be as easy to find. Your lovely, fun Gallus should bring the humble scarf into the limelight. Whilst I have quite a few things on my needles, the project that is bringing the most joy is my new socks...the Surprise sock-along for the Contrast Blast socks by Stephen West. It has been quite fun knitting along and each clue has been just the perfect amount of knitting. Like many of Mr Westknits designs, the socks are a little zany, and incorporate unusual details! I normally make my socks toe up, but these are cuff down, so there is a little readjustment for me but it's all in good fun! P.S. you'll be pleased to know the Holst Coast blooms beautifully. I have used it for a light weight top and it's just gorgeous once washed and blocked. Knitting with the string is worth it! The carpet bag is stunning! Now that is something I would like to learn to make myself. Your aunt is so talented. Congratulations on the new design ♥ I had the pleasure of travelling in Europe on a river cruise from Budapest to Prague, then on to Paris and London during October and early November. The weather was perfectly autumnal and so so beautiful to see all the trees changing their colours and finding chestnuts in the park. Ican recommend travelling in the autumn months and I would consider a river cruise again too.

I am knitting Diana's Bandana by Ozetta and I'm really enjoying it, I started this project right on time to take it with me when I traveled to Scotland a couple of weeks ago. It is double knitting and simple and yet interesting so it's perfect for traveling. I love making memories with my projects, either because of a yarn I bought somewhere specific or remembering the time I worked on it. So this project is definitely bringing me a lot of joy, as well as planning my next trip to Scotland as I am already missing your beautiful country. While I was in Edinburgh I went by Ginger Twist and had a lovely time there. I never realized how small it was from the videos you made there. What a lovely little shop full of treasures !

I love what you're wearing, it looks like stained glass! It's so lovely to spend this hour with you, even with the oracle card really calling me out this time! (In a good way.) Right now I'm weaving in the ends of a cardigan I just finished out of my own hand-dyed yarn. It's a mix of mosaic crochet and filet-ish crochet lace. I'm Pagan and each of the yarn colorways were inspired by one of my Gods, as were the patterns I created for various parts of this cardigan. It has drapey sleeves and a flowy dramatic hood! And laces up on the front and sides!

Congratulations on your new pattern! It's lovely 😊 I've never done short rows before and this looks like the perfect project to give it a try. Can't wait for it to come out. The knitting that's giving me joy at the moment is from a second hand pattern book I got called 'Thrown Together' by Kim Hargreaves. I'm knitting a 1940s inspired jumper called 'Still' and I'm using 100% stash yarn. It's giving me joy to use up some stash, but mostly it's joyful because you've inspired me to use a neon orange yarn that my cousin gifted me that I was a bit afraid to use before! It's so much fun to add that amazing colour contrast! I also have something called dyscalculia and I've discovered that knitting older patterns in pieces in the flat is much easier for me so that's made me very happy too. Thanks again for a great episode!

Thank you for taking us around with you in Europe! It sounds like an amazing experience. I was knitting on the shawlography shawl, it’s my first of his kals and I absolutely love it. I enjoy every single stitch! I wish I could join you in September but it’s not written in the stars unfortunately. Looking forward to your next video x

Oh, I just LOVED this episode! It was so great to see you again & hear what you've been doing. When you lifted up the carpet bag from your aunt, my jaw dropped & stayed there through the entire description of it. It is amazing! I think it so beautiful & I'm really happy it is in your home. I think there will be some inspirations from it coming out in your creativity! I'm excited to try your new scarf once it is available! Congratulations on all the opportunities you are going to have at the upcoming festivals. I am currently finishing the button band on the Riverbend cardigan by Julie Hoover in Brooklyn Tweed Quarry. Thanks for a lovely time with you!!

What a wonderful gift!!! I am currently knitting my first Shit Cowl by Andrea Mowry. I'm very late to jumping on the shift train. I've just started and am looking forward to seeing jow the colors work together. The puffins on that adorable bag made me smile. Years ago I spent time in Alaska kayaking- often in the early morning the puffins would follow along with us. Enjoy your podcast very much. Take care. Stephanie

Congratulations Amy for your first lovely pattern! So happy for you and looking forward to seeing it officially born. I am currently knitting a lightweight summer ranunculus (here in Italy the heat is ON) for my elderly aunt with a yarn from a small Italian company, in a blend of linen and hemp, lilac and violet...it is lovely but 4 thin strands that are splitting a lot...the vow...I really felt this resonated to much, as my lack of keeping my word to myself, while being extremely reliable dedicated and present with others, I am really wanting to take a vow to myself...this was perfect timing, thank you. I love the bright colors you are knitting...the bag Lorna made for you is amazing! soo beautiful, I love those kinds of bags...I bought various project bags from Lorna and I love them 💚 I am in the process of going through my stash too to reorganize it better...the only issue really is having too much! My most memorable night train travel was from Paris to Rome with my mom, we bought a great red French wine and different cheeses and had our own little banquet in the cabin...thank you for sharing so much creative nourishment 🌺🌸 would love to go to Budapest at some point...

Hi Amy, I really enjoy all your episodes! Please keep going! Congratulations on your first official design! I like how you constantly radiate calmness, your joy of life, self-confidence, and your love towards your family. I am curretly knitting Millicent Capelet designed by Elisabeth Sullivan, Sweet Paprika Designs. This capelet goes to my sister-in-law, who after living almost 30 years with her love and having a daughter together, finally gets married to him in September. A made the same capelet for her daughter, for her marriage last year. It will be a surprise, and I myself cannot be there (in Hungary), but my husband will represent our family. Happy knitting! Zsuzsanna

A wonderful episode, as always - thank you for sharing your makings and doings with us! I'm finding joy in knitting three things at the moment: the Spark Cardigan with Blue Sky Fibers Woolstok and Feederbrook Farm Entropy (my first steeked project!), Woodland Bells socks with FDF Pintler Sock, as well as a blue and orange half & half triangle wrap (I've found that completing a few rows each evening right before bed is an excellent way to relax). Now I need to set aside some time to go through all the other comments and find projects that will bring me joy in the future!

Thank you for another entertaining and informative episode. Really enjoyed it. I was especially interested in your exploration of colour and inspired to do the same. I am currently knitting for my brother, daughter and a friend. I love knitting for people who appreciate hand crafted garments. Finally thank you for taking me on your wonderful holiday. Until next time best wishes from Australia ❤️❤️❤️
