I very occasionally treat myself to yarn from the US and one year fairly recently decided to do so with Purl Soho, to get some Linen Quill. However, it turned out that they have some sort of system in place which meant my parcel arrived with a label indicating it had come to me from somewhere in SE England and though the actual shipping was £15-ish, there were no other fees to pay. (I believe Knit Picks does something similar?) I don't know the ins and outs, but it certainly means that buying from them, especially during a sale, is a bit more affordable.

Thanks for your podcast. Some lovely shawls there. I put all of my woolly knits away after wearing. Have found that no matter where I have lived in the UK - woolly bears (moths) have always had a good chew of anything wool that has been left out. And they particularly like mohair. Red is their favourite colour. And before people add the stuff about cedar balls and lavender bags and lavender air misters, etc - have tried them all over the last 40 or 50 years without success. 😊

I bought 12 colors of yarn on a trip to Norway recently, intending to make a very painterly version of Artus. Can’t wait to get started!! Yours is striking and so sophisticated, and I appreciated your thoughts about arranging the colors.

You, and you alone, showed me how lovely SWest’s patterns can be when done in a more muted palette. I think you show off his designs to their best effect. I’ve now made two different shawls thanks to you!!

Hello Amy. Another lovely podcast. The Artus shawl is stunning. A few podcasts ago you were sharing your shawls you have created. One was by Stephen West and I believe you knit it in black and white. I cannot find the podcast. Would you be mind sharing the episode number and or the the name of the shawl pattern Thank you so very much from Ontario, Canada 🇨🇦 🇨🇦

HI Amy, Another fun and informative podcast. I love your Fairy Bouquet jumper. I not only bought the pattern as soon as I saw it, something ai really never do. AND, I was so smitten with her inspiration, a flower known as linaria. The year I bought the pattern I also did some winter sewing and linaria were among the seeds I planted with great success. This year I don't have quite as many seedlings coming back. I think it is time for me to make the sweater. I held back from making it because the more I looked at the more I thought it might be too warm for me to wear inside. I am considering using a plant based fiber for it. I haven't seen it for a while but I still really love the look of it. So thank you again for all you do to inspire us. AND wow, your version of the Artus is so different, so spectacular. I have been looking at many versions but did not recognize it when I first saw it.

I love the idea of using a lovely photo as color inspiration. I am not confident in picking my own and usually rely on a set or kit and let someone else do this for me but I think the photo idea is a way to help me start choosing my own! Also I was eager to find where I could watch “Blackbird…” (foreign films are awesome) and want to see it and the other as well! Lol white lotus was highly entertaining. Didn’t you love the quirky music? I always love when podcasters recommend movies or books❤ And also I love the oracle reading you do at the beginning g if your episodes. Thank you for that as well!

I am close to my finish of your Coorie In Poncho. It took forever for me to find and decide on a red main that I liked. I chose Madeline Tosh Light merino in Fatal Attraction red held with Rowan KidSilk Haze 70/30 in color Ruby. I did do helical knitting as skeins changed once I had approximately 20% left of starter skein. It worked well, no pooling at all and the color is beautiful. I will post on Instagram with a #CoorieInPoncho post. Love all your finished objects. I modified my high neck ribbing and added length to suit my height and coverage of my arms. Easy pattern, lovely knit, highly recommended! Keep up the fun designs, you are creating. Love your channel from the beginning. Happy knitting.

Your color choices for your Soho Square are spot on with the picture of the moon!!! What a beautiful combination and what a fun story behind the choice of colors. It also ties in with (in my opinion) your love of astrology. I had no idea that the moon had different colors on it. Thanks for the new knowledge. 😊😉

And of course all your projects are beautiful and so inspirational! I immediately went and purchased the Artus Shawl! I have four colors in Holst and will be searching for 5th to make this beautiful piece!
@AmyPalkoАй бұрын
Ooh - we’ll make sure you’re getting gauge with your Holst. If it’s the Supersoft it’s a very different weight from the sport weight used in the pattern. I think it was on the LA Knits podcast that I saw she knitted her Artus in fingering weight at a different gauge and it came out a smaller than expected.

Both the card and the poem touched my heart. I am leaving tomorrow to volunteer in Ukraine again for a couple of weeks. My heart will again get cracked open, and will be able to hold even more compassion - fierce compassion. My journey will begin, as all do, with a single step. And although I find airports to be a bit stressful, they are liminal spaces that always bring on a slightly stretched feeling. Thank you for this beautiful episode! I am already looking forward to the next.

Hi there. You know, Andrea Mowry has a Weekender crew neck out for some time now. I am knitting on it as I write this, lol. I do not like boat necks either, because it irritates my throat. But with the crew neck now, it is just perfect to knit the weekender. 🙂

I love attic24's patterns and blog ❤ for crochet blankets you could try chaining up using a bigger hook than you are planning on using for the rest of the project. Otherwise I would recommend looking up the foundation crochet stitches which mean that you don't have to crochet into the chain as it is all encompassed in the stitch 👍🏻

Hi Amy! I just melt into my chair with a project and listen ... your voice is so calming, thanks so much for sharing. I too love to have a cozy project of little attention to just grab when that's the head space I'm in. I recently made purl soho's half and half triangles, using the linen quill. As much as I loved the linen quill, it knits up a so gracefully and the colours are stunning ... but when finished, although beautiful, I find it a little prickly where it touches my neck. I still love wearing it, it's a cozy stretch and warm and not warm ... a real hug! I've ordered some different yarn to make another .. I must make another ;) Thanks again for a lovely visit ;) Sunshine
