I posted this a few years ago, and it garnered roughly 2 Million views over the course of time. Not too shabby for a strange idea I had while shaving. Last night - and we won’t point any fingers - the video was accidentally deleted from my channel during some routine maintenance. OH, THE HORROR. All those wonderful comments… gone forever. *tear*… *sniff*.
After a brief minute of grieving, we are now choosing to look at this unfortunate flub as a blessing in disguise. Since mid-2018, my channel has exploded tenfold, literally. So, this is as good a time as any to reintroduce “The Mercurotti.”
“Nessun Dorma” has become a favorite of mine to perform at solo shows, rock shows, and even Queen tribute shows. It was Pavarotti’s calling card, and I’ve often wished he’d sung a duet with Freddie Mercury. Perhaps it would have sounded a bit like this. This was shot as a 3-camera one-take, with the help of my wife, Crystal. The only vocal overdub is the “Pavarotti” harmony at the very end, as I’ve yet to master singing in two voices at once. Please enjoy.
