I think we miss these times not only because of nostalgia, but because they were not so fast, so rushed, so crowded, so complicated. Yes, life can be a bitch and we all have problems, but now it’s like you live your life like an ant and people are in a hurry all the time. Information comes at the speed of light, stress comes with the sound of a BLING on your cellphone and everybody is looking for digital entertainment, rather than interacting with someone. We kept imagining the future in the 80’s and 90’s. Well, guess what? The future is here and it looks grim as shit.

This shows the sheer beautiful optimism that’s existed in the 80s cinema. We need this more than ever. The media is far too negative. We owe it to the next generation. It’s okay to Dream. They may never come true.... but dreaming is the best bit. It’s not the destination... it’s the journey 💫

I don't care how old I am now or how old in the future I reach. Part of me will always be a kid stuck in the 80s. No place I would rather be and would do anything to go back to that place again. This song/video is amazing but I felt both ecstatic/depressed at the same time. Youth really is wasted on the young. Any kids/teenagers reading this savour every second of your youth whilst you can. Don't keep looking to the future but enjoy the now. Because when your youth is over it is never coming back.

The attachment to the 80's is one of the coolest things you get out of surfing music through KZfaq. I came into the 80's as a 17 year old...to wrap up your high school years early in the decade only to then flow into some absurdly crazy and fun college days while the decade was in full swing was most fortunate. The Midnight captures the vibe of the time so well that anytime it is combined with 80's based content it just works!!

I wasn't born in the 80's nor before, nor did I live in the United States to know what was the best decade of its history... Even though "The Midnight" and several series that come out in this video are not from the 80s it's amazing how this touches my soul, I have too much nostalgia for a time that didn't live...

Just want to say that, I am so grateful to God that I was raised in the 80s because it was the most beautiful thing I have experienced. Now, I'm sharing my moments from then to my kids so that they can somewhat experience some of the joys of being an 80s/early 90s kid. From movies, music, and video games. Thank you so much for these memories you have shared to us in this video.

This song and video is just so powerful. I was born in 86 in Brooklyn, NY. The only thing that kept me off the streets and out of gang violence was television, movies and video games. These things were more than just entertainment to me, they were doorways into worlds that seemed so much brighter than what was outside my window. I might not be alive today if it weren't for the amazing content that was produced in the 80's which I was lucky enough to have experienced as a child, even if I technically grew up in the 90's. People can say whatever they want about the 80's not being as great as people try to remember them being, but they'll never understand how euphoric and life altering these things were for a child who could have easily went down a terrible path.

This video and song are truly amazing. Watching the video and listening to the song makes me long for the 80's again, it makes me feel sad and want to cry for a better time, it makes me feel hopeful for all of 5 minutes and 14 seconds, it makes me feel weak, sick, embolden, and it makes my heart beat faster with excitement in my chest. I am 45 years old, and am absolutely gushing over this video and song - nostalgia never felt this beautiful, warm, exciting and exhilarating. Bravo, Midnight! And to whomever put this video together and posted it on KZfaq! My hat is off to you.... You beautiful, intelligent, and talented people. All of you....

That time is so loved not because of what we had back then, but because we didn’t have what we have now. Widespread internet access, multinational corporations with as much power, mobile phones, social media, persistent terrorism threat, corrupt politics, and media coverage of every little disaster around the world. The world was so much simpler, so much more pure and carefree. I didn’t even exist back then and I can still sense that inevitable nostalgic pang people approaching middle age feel whenever a video like this makes an appearance. It’s incredible.
