I remember new year's eve in NYC, it was 1988. There was a pub right across the times square ball, to the south of it. No barriers, no 8 hour waits, no searches. We sat in the bar keeping warm, by the window, it was about 25 degrees outside. The staff was a bit picky but not so much, they let us order drinks every hour. About 15 minutes before the ball dropped we walked out, saw it drop, cheered and went home. I was the designated driver before it was a thing. Got everyone home safely by 1am. Was the best time of our lives. Last time I watched the ball drop was in 2019, it was so different then, I'm sure it is very different now.

I was lucky enough to live through the 80's as a teen. We explored, we ventured, and we lived!! Not hiding behind a phone 24/7. No mobile phone, meant social interaction was a necessity rather than an option. People forget how to "talk" to someone bcuz they rely on their fingers. The more we distance ourselves from each other, we make it that much easier for A.I. to dominate us.

The Midnight reminds me how crazy it is, that as an 80s kid, I looked up to these characters who were ten years older than me like they were adults who knew a lot about the world. Born in 1980, being a kid and a teenager living through the 80s and 90s were far most the happiest time of my life. Having a big brother in hs, seeing them hanging out at the mall, drivin with music, me meeting the buddies on the corner of 7eleven, arcade games playin, riding on your bmx through the alleys, sippin on pepsi, your living your life at that precise moment... it was a sane kids world...it was a breakfast club moment...❤️❤️❤️

Had the first surgery, it was brutal. Just enjoy what you have. If you have a long lost love- call her. If you have a best friend from high school, call him. We thought we’d live forever. We dont. You know, there's something about the idea of stepping back into the '80s and '90s that really speaks to me. Born in June of '86, I feel like I missed out on experiencing the simplicity and authenticity of that era firsthand. Life just seemed... easier back then, you know? One thing that really stands out to me is how people were more connected to each other and their surroundings. Without smartphones and the internet constantly vying for our attention, you had to be present in the moment to truly experience life. There was a rawness to relationships, a genuine connection formed through face-to-face interactions rather than through screens. And dating? It seemed so much simpler. All you needed was the courage to approach someone and maybe a cool car to impress them. None of this swiping left or right nonsense. Just good old-fashioned conversation and chemistry. But it wasn't just about romance; it was about the freedom of youth. We were more carefree back then, more willing to take risks and try new things. There was a sense of adventure in the air that's hard to find in today's world of political correctness and constant connectivity.
