He later told SEGA Nerds at the Toy Fair that bugs won't be fixed if they're "not catastrophic." Does this guy even understand that some updates make incremental improvements? Not every update is to fix a game killing bug.

+KamatsuKyoto I haven't been following that one too closely so there could be some issue I'm not aware of, but from what I do know, I don't think it's a scam. I know they're raking in tons of cash from the crowd and the "completed" game hasn't shipped yet but they're entitled to their success and they seem to be making progress. I don't think people who are shelling out hundreds, or thousands into digital content are making a wise choice, but that's their choice. I don't think the game is a scam because they already have so much up and running (from what I can tell). If they were pulling in this much money based ONLY on hopes and dreams, that would be another discussion. I think the biggest issue they will run into is satisfying their user base. I'm sure the people paying hundreds right now are expecting something big in the future and if their expectations aren't met that might not end well depending on how much of the community is unsatisfied. Any project that hasn't officially delivered has a possibility of being a scam because we can't get into the head of the creator and know their true intentions. But from what I know about Star Citizen it seems most likely that it is not. It's just making a lot of money and some people are paying a lot but I don't think that's wrong in itself. I'm not seeing any warning signs yet. I don't know if I'll ever get Star Citizens, it feels like something that'll end up being waaaaay over my head. Now something like No Man's Sky on the other hand, that is something I'm interested in!

+senatortombstone Good points! That's actually where I've been going with this! Mike definitely has a sales-man's mindset but I don't think he's a psychopath, that's too broad. He's actually a narcissist. In fact, if you look at the old definition for a narcissist (I think it's the DSM-IV) it has nine points to define a narcissist and MIke meets ALL NINE POINTS. It's incredible. Oh, and I agree with the RETRO mag thing. Thankfully I only subscribed to year 1 but I don't think there's ever going to be an issue 11. If it ever exists, it's only going to be a digital download and probably only half the size as a regular issue.

+StopDrop&Retro Believe it or not, the Retro FB page indicated that issue #11 is going to the presses. The cover features three triforces, one with Link, one with Zelda, and one with Ganon. I do hope the magazine continues, as I enjoy reading about Retro games and I don't want to get nothing for my paid subscription, but yeah I would not be surprised if each issue is the last.

Oi, you go any new issue? the site says that is under new management and their patreon more or less says they are holding 2018's issues hostage.

+StopDrop&Retro Yeah, Chris REALLY needs to give up on this 'male lesbian' thing: he makes the most HIDEOUS female imaginable, and worse, he looks like a 50 year old woman instead of a man in his early 30s! But what really reminds me of Mike in Chris-chan is his blissful belief in his own competence in the face of overwhelming evidence to the contrary, as well as his belief that money should just come to him for making an effort, no matter how half-assed that effort might be. Still, maybe you and some of us subscribers should have a mini-charity drive and see if we can't buy and send Mike a Sonichu medallion or a....damn it's a shame there's no real Coleco 'mascot' character or we could get one of Cchan's customized Amibos for him based on one, and see if he makes the connection or not. ;-) Whaddya think?

+Retro Active That has got to be one of the biggest tragedies in this story. I didn't want to address it in this video because I hope it'll just get swept under the rug if we don't focus on it. But the reason people are even going into that drama is because Mike ran away with his tail between his legs and doesn't want to take responsibility for what he's done. What a piece of shit. I have no problem with him ruining his own reputation but don't drag other people down with you. Stand up and take responsibility.

+StopDrop&Retro Agreed. Now you might argue that agreeing to work with Mike has subjected you to this particular risk, as you were expecting to make money and there are no guarantees. However, what Mike promised and promoted were nothing even remotely close to what he delivered/displayed at the toy fair and Facebook, and he already had Game Gavel and Retro magazine, so how could they have seen this debacle coming. Regardless, running and hiding is the wrong response no matter what, more so when others are left as collateral damage to deal with the fallout. Just a mess and a shame it went the way it did.

+Retro Active Exactly. Mike didn't throw away his reputation completely until he stuffed a SNES Jr. in there. I was convinced that once he got the COLECO branding his problems were over, things were falling into place. But I think the Toy Fair was the moment where people in the scene needed to take a look at the evidence, the fact that Mike refused to open the prototype and realize they couldn't support something that was obviously going into the realm of fraud.

+BawesomeBurf Thanks! The Mikeonomic system is easy once you understand that as much money as possible flows back to Mike or his companies and the scraps go towards trying to make what you promised people in exchange for their money.

+jlebrech That's the funny part, people do that all day on Kickstarter. I think Mike is just completely out of touch with what's happening currently. Hell, if he tried to do that SNES in a Jag shell with the Gamerztek SNES clone he might have actually had a chance of pulling off the illusion no one could figure out but I think he just doesn't know these things are out there.

My idea is a custom raspberry pi case with nfc and you insert cards that look like the original cartridges to launch the games :)

Now that's a campaign I can get behind! The guy really needs help though, his Patreon is a joke.
