With regards to Sha'carri, it's the lack of accountability for me. Some are blindly defending her because they are not privy to her actions. Those who were actively following her tweets and posts have seen firsthand the disrespect she has shown not only to the Jamaican legends but her own teammates. Ms Richardson has never ran any professional races but had the arrogance of Usain Bolt. I'm all for being confident but you only get bragging rights if you have delivered. What bothered me the most is that she didn't even stay on the track and congratulate her counterparts but talked shit during the first interview. Allyson Felix placed last in her race and carried herself with more grace and class.

I think y’all are forgetting the fact that she’s only 21. She’s never performed on a stage this big. She did great despite going through a tumultuous time (the loss of a mother figure) then she missed out on an event that comes once every 4 years. Can we give this twenty year old room to make her mistakes and learn from them? 🤷🏾‍♀️

Okay so the thing with Sha’Carri is that some Americans, believed she was good enough so they had the audacity to disrespect the Jamaicans. I saw a tweet that said, the Jamaicans’ gold medal didn’t count because Sha’Carri was not in the race. I mean how can you discount someone’s victory like that. I know and understand the whole concept of big-upping your person but you don’t do that.

My only hope for Sha'Carrie is that I has the right team around her. 1. They let her be in a position to use so close to the Olympics and after getting that news 2. She should have kept a lower profile during the Olympics and just worked in silence. Two big missteps by her team.

I was rooting for everyone black. I felt very satisfied with the Olympic and the Prefontaine Classic. I didn't like how the American press shitted all over Usain Bolt 2016 when he smiled crossing the finish line. That's when I switched to rooting for Americans to rooting for the black people.

People didn’t see the disrespect she was giving to the Jamaican women. Usain never disrespected anybody, Elaine never, Shelly never, Sherika (the bronze winner) never. She came for Jamaica and the US fans wasn’t ready when Jamaica responded. To be honest most people wouldn’t have watched that race if it wasn’t for her so maybe that’s why so many people were mad they wasted their time

Hezekiah Walker and Kirk Franklin albums are the soundtrack of my life in the 90s.😆My great-uncle came to visit, and I was in the zone under my headphones. He was like, "So what are you listening to secluding yourself away from us all?" Mad snarky... he thought he was about to trip me up thinking I was going say some hippity-hop or something, but I told him I was learning a song and gave him my cd-man. Yup, I was learning my solo for Silver and Gold. He was shocketh.😂😂😂 Changed his whole vibe when he was around me for the rest of his life.

Track is in very high regard in Jamaica. We honor good competitors no matter the country, she would have been respected if she held her tongue. Disrespect and hubris only gets you hated by those who would otherwise love you. I pray she learns that lesson as she is a wonderfully talented young lady.
@antoniaathawilliams7
@antoniaathawilliams7 2 жыл бұрын
It's also an Oak Cliff thing... talk shit when you're up. Don't stop when you're down. All athletes especially the most fierce competitors (in my hood) do what she's done, maybe not in a public forum but at least in their heads. She's 21, just a baby, and she's not used to losing. It shook her. She's been taught that when she feels insecure just talk more shit... her tone didn't come off disrespectful to me. Sounded like a spades tournament at the family reunion somewhere. I applaud her for doing exactly what she did. She's just lost her mother and her boyfriend from what I understand. And when she lost, she was probably crying in the locker room somewhere then somebody she trusted, hyped her up (telling her to believe in herself in a very hood way I'm sure)... and that's the energy she came on the mic with. 🤷🏿‍♀️I pray she continues to grow and develop personally and professionally and that she doesn't let all this negative attention stop her cause she really is very talented.

She disrespected the Jamaican winners and made everything about herself. And she posted that question one Twitter during the Olympics that If we miss her yet and tried to discredit her gabby who was on her team. So when it comes to Sha'ccari she was saying some stuff leading up to the race , borderline disrespectful to legends in the sport. It's cool to be confident but take a look at her tic tocks and the pre- race interview with the other ladies. Then instead of being graceful like my girl Allyson Felix she out her cussing and acting crazy in the post interview. I want her to be great but recognize greatness and aspire to it . She's young and I know she's going to be a star but recognize the leaders in you field you dont have to kiss butt but be respectful. She came for the Jamaicans so she had to back it up. And guess what she wrote a cheque her little butt couldn't cash. Don't at me

Nah shacarri needed to be humbled. Yea it sucked they didn’t let her run and she took up the responsibility and folks supported her etc etc. But after that she started throwing shot talking “miss me yet” and people was def saying it would’ve been different if she was at Tokyo. So you know damn well Elaine was extra motivated to smoke her at the race 😂. It’s not that deep, no one is wishing her bad in actual life but you gotta back your talk up and I’m not even Jamaican. It’s Twitter, they go ham when they cutting ass, it’s not just her.

“Wait on You” got me through purchasing a home this year. I lost offer after offer and God said wait. My sister sent me “Jireh” and I stumbled on “Wait on You” and took it as confirmation. Glad I listened.

Tbh, Sha’Carri’s case wasn’t helped when she tweeted “Miss me yet?” during the Olympics, while they were running, when American fans said the Jamaican women’s medals deserve an asterisk because Sha’Carri wasn’t in the race (implying she would have beat them), Or when she liked a tweet saying Shelly Ann looks like Lil Wayne after she lost Edit: she’s trending again and apparently she just liked hella xenophobic tweets about Jamaicans 😬😬 someone needs to get her phone fr

Only people who are ignorant of track would say this. As a Yalie I would go to Penn Relays and 🇯🇲 reigned supreme. Trash talk is supposed to be fun. A child's mother died. We should be wrapping our arms around her. Leave 🇯🇲 out because they stay fast. I'm still high off of Jasmine Camacho Quinn's win for 🇵🇷, but still support our baby in mourning. People can really be terrible.

Kev, my husband and I was planning on coming to the Palm Beach show BUT the Covid numbers are SKYROCKETING here. School started 2 weeks ago and 85 children have tested positive, and 8th grader and 2 teachers have DIED. We’re just scared. Don’t leave us in the trash. Give us another chance post Covid and we will show out for you!
