We have set up our minefield with gunner and we are ready to take on even the largest bugs. This time we are using the minelayer system overclock on the Hurricane and Electro Minelets overclock on the BRT Burst Pistol, and we are going to be taking them on an elimination mission.

I’m fully aware of how Engineer has the best weapons in the whole game but Gunner easily has the most fun ones.

A few months ago I would agree, but my Sun Gun is full of Fun and has easily become my favourite implement of destruction in DRG. That said, Gunner is my second favourite class for a reason.

Driller has the most fun guns in my opinion. Freezing hoes and destroying them is so satisfying.

I wish they would make a full weapon for large sticky mines. Pretty much exactly the sticky bomb launcher from Tf2. There are many OCs which have similar features but still. If you don’t know what I’m talking about it shoots mines that stick to surfaces (like minelayer system but with slower shooting), then at any moment you can detonate them with right click. I just feel like a weapon fully designed around sticky mines would be really awesome if they committed to the idea. I love the idea of setting up mines, waiting for bugs to come and then detonating at the right moment killing all of them. Another fantastic part of the Tf2 mines is that there is a side grade version called the Scottish resistance which allows you to only detonate the mines which are within a certain distance of your cursor, with all mines being highlighted so you can easily detonate a specific clump of them by quickly glancing over. In DRG, these launchers would be really fun, you could set up various traps and detonate when you want rather than have them set off automatically when you aren’t looking. Obviously there are a handful of mine-like weapons but my point is that why don’t they just go all in and make sticky mines a weapon of their own seeing as it would work so well with DRG combat

Minlayer system is such an overlooked oc. Kinda surprised the devs haven't nerfed it. But i guess is is a one trick pony but MAN is it good at that trick

I don't think it will get nerfed because even though it is very strong it can be kind of inconsistent.

Do we have any information regarding *how much* the damage/area increase is for the Hurricane's Minelets? I completely ignored this OC until a couple months ago (I think it was a build you'd done that talked about them) that made me go back and try them. Given that the in-game notes on Minelayer System (among many, many other OCs and mods) are overwhelming unhelpful and don't mention the increase at all, I just figured they took the missiles and made them *less* versatile and powerful for no benefit. It would be really great to know specifically how the OC affected them, and if it interacted at all with the T5 mod that increases damage from travel time (and if "planted" time counted for that mod).

Mines do 2.75x damage based on the Area damage. So going with more area damage will get you more damage. I am not sure if the T5 actually gives you any more damage on the mines. It doesn't seem to unless you hit them with the rocket itself.

Every time I log on this week, the Deep Dives have been reset. If I had had time I could have done them many many times. It could be related to another bug where it doesn't save my Gamma settings, and I keep getting notifications for "new" Overclocks and cosmetics, but this is the first time it affected Deep Dive completions.
