I HAD ACID REFLUX and my doctor put me on 40mg of Nexium. I took it for 20 years. In 2014, I was diagnosed at Emory Brain Center Atlanta with Degenerative Brain Disease (NOS). In 2021 I was learning about the benefits of Keto; one being acid reflux. January 2022, I went strict Keto. In two weeks, I was off Nexium. Ten months later, I was off 6 additional medications and had lost 50 lbs.

According to the information in this interview, my carnivore diet should be contributing to chronic stress. But, since I’ve switched to a carnivore diet, my blood pressure has improved, my knees stopped hurting, my eyesight has improved, my bladder control has improved, I am stronger than I have ever been in my life, and my endurance is comparable to when I ran track in high school. I’m a 67 year old female who has quit eating vegetables over a year ago and never felt better. So, either my improvement is not reality, or the “facts” stated in the interview are not reality.

Fasting and phototherapy both increase NO! Some benefits of occasional extended fasting and lowering carbs in the diet: High blood pressure is lowered to normal levels very quickly while fasting. Fibrosis/scarring is reversed over time, including in the heart and lungs. Vitamin D plasma levels are increased as fasting improves metabolic health, and vitamin D in turn increases autophagy. When insulin is high, vit D stays locked in the blood cells. Fasting stimulates phagocytosis, the ingestion plaques, growths and pathogens by the immune system. This will also remove spikes quicker, whether natural or unnatural in origin! Your body recycles up to 1/3 of all immune bodies in a 72h fast, rejuvenating your entire immune system. This helps prevent the onset of new autoimmune conditions, which develop through a leaky gut and damaged immune system. Blood sugar and insulin are lowered when fasting, reducing inflammation and allowing the immune bodies to move freely through the body. Fasts from 36-96 h increase metabolic rate due to norepinephrine release! Fasting restores your circadian rhythm to normal over time. T cells and T reg cells are vital in fighting cancer, autoimmune disease and infections but as we age the thymus stops making as many of them. Fasting releases stem cells, which then can become new T cells. It also releases growth hormone, which regenerates the thymus itself! Fasting restores NAD+ and increases nitric oxide release to open blood vessels. Reflexes and short term memory are increased. Fasting increases anti-aging Yamanaka factors and increases average telomere length in stem cell pools. Fasting can help with MS, Depression, BPD, Autism and seizures. When you move out of MTOR your body shuts down the building blocks of the cell required for viruses to replicate. The hunger hormone ghrelin also lowers with extended fasting and rises from dieting. What breaks a fast? Anything with protein or carbohydrates in it will break a fast but most teas and herbs are OK. Supplements and meds often break ketosis directly or contain a filler that will. Many meds are dangerous to take while fasting. Does fasting lower testosterone? No, it raises it when the fast is broken by increasing lutenizing hormone. Fasting also increases insulin sensitivity, which helps with muscle building. Fasting activates autophagy (literally self eating). This will cause cells to recycle damaged proteins and foreign matter such as viruses. Lowering insulin via fasting virtually eliminates chronic inflammation in the body. Weight loss from daily caloric restriction has 1/4 to 1/3 of the weight lost as lean tissue while many studies show fat loss from 36 h fasts without losing any lean tissue! Fasts of 36-96 will not affect short term female fertility or affect menstrual cycle. They also may increase long term fertility for some women. It increases mitochondrial function and repairs mitochondrial DNA, leading to improved ATP production and oxygen efficiency. Increased mitochondrial function also has the added benefit of increasing your metabolism, fighting infection and cancer prevention! 24h of fasting can cut your leptin levels in half! This reduces leptin resistance, which impairs immune function. Fasting reduces pain and anxiety by stimulating the endocannabinoid system, just like the effect of CBD oil Stomach acid is reduced over time while fasting and can allow for the healing of treatment resistant ulcers. Some patients may need continued acid reduction medication while fasting. When the fast is completed, your stomach acid levels will be normalized. Your brain also prefers to burn ketones at a rate of around 2.5 to 1 when they are available in equal quantity to glucose. Except for brief periods of very intense exercise, your body mainly burns fats in the form of free fatty acids. Fasting releases BDNF and NGF in the blood. This stimulates new nerve and brain cell growth, which can help a great deal with diseases like MS, peripheral neuropathy and Alzheimers. When not in ketosis, the brain can only burn carbohydrate, which produces a great deal of damaging ROS the brain has to deal with. Fasting increases telomere length, negating some of the effects of aging at a cellular level. When you fast, this stimulates apoptosis in senescent or genetically damaged cells, destroying them. Senescent cells are responsible for many of the effects of aging and are a root cause of the development of cancer. A fasting mimicking diet for 3-5 days in a row provides many of the same benefits as water fasting. FMD usually has 200-800 calories, under 18 g of protein and extremely low carbs. Exogenous ketones can aid with fasting, making it easier in healthy people and allowing some people with specific issues to fast in spite of them without worrying as much about hypoglycemia. They also help with dementia and many other issues even if you take them while not fasting! Glycine and trimethylglycine can also be useful supplements while fasting that won't break ketosis and have many benefits. Children, pregnant or nursing women should not fast for periods longer than 16 hours. People with pancreatic tumors or certain forms of hypoglycemia generally cannot fast at all. Type 1 diabetics can also fast but it is more complicated and should be approached with caution as it could lead to ketoacidosis. If you experience extreme symptoms of some kind, especially dizziness or tremors, then simply break the fast and seek advice. I am more inclined to believe what Dr Anthony Chaffee says about fasting, that if you do not eat plants your body’s self regulatory systems take care of these matters(such as autophagy, etc) automatically. You will be keeping plenty of ketones, and not need expensive supplements! Us carnivores are fasting from carbohydrates right along, but if you want to keep eating carbs, you will need fasting to stay well!

Dr. Louis Ignaro recommends adding arginine to boost nitric oxide production, and Dr. Bryan says it is not necessary and may be harmful to add arginine. But arginine also stimulates viral replication, especially HSV. Dr. Ignaro says meat, greasy hamburger (ribeye too?), diminishes nitric oxide. We should eat fish. Constructive criticism that this video is very weirdly formatted, seems it 'opens in the middle' and jumps around a lot. Watchers, jump to 38:00 minutes (to around at least 1:10:00 minutes) for the chunk that imo would be the best intro/explainer, with everything else in the first 40 minutes and after being 'more details'. Re: Organic-grown fruits & vegs having less nitrates, due to soil depletion over time (?), if you have a garden/containers you can add nitrogen with things like coffee grounds, eggshells, fruit rinds (and good scrap-compost in general).

44:57 the problem with belief is, that it doesn't have to stand on facts. Lean protein is nonsense, fat is fuel. Unsaturated fat as in anything from plants is total nonsense, as e.g. seed oils are NO inhibitors, he should know that. Carbohydrates & fiber are contraindicated. 01:10:50 organic though not always but increasingly so comes from hydroponic agriculture, where plants have no contact to soil, and the liquids usedto grow them may or may not be correctly formulated. The decreased nutrient content of food in the US and elsewhere too is due to top soil degradation. Another reason for keeping animals on the land to help nature maintaining a healthy cycle.

I agree that nitric oxide is good, but Viagra has opposite effect on me, it worked very powerfully first time, I couldn't sit up because of low blood pressure and had an unhealthy heavy feeling in my body and chest, happened one or two times, after that it made my blood vessels constrict very hard (had chest pain also), i became very cold and had even more erectile dysfunction and some back pain, tried many times, never worked. Is it not better to use nitroglycerine as nitrolingual pumpspray instead? Eating beets etc didn't help, I even used nitrate powder didn't help either with vasodilation. My way of raising nitric oxide is to eat enough and go for a walk with warm clothes or taking a warm shower, heat causes vasodilation, it is evident by looking at the veins on the back of a warm hand or forearm.

You should fix your high blood pressure. No 1 killing of nitric acid is uric acid. No 1 producer of uric acid is fructose (both exogenous from eating fruits or drinking high fructose corn syrup soda drink or endogenous from glucose - @126 mg/dl serum glucose level, glucose is metabolized to fructose). I thought visceral fat is the cause of all our diseases per Dr. Sean. What’s the connection with NO causing all our diseases?

01:02:47 epidemiology of human nutrition is NOT science. Also, he has just contraindicated himself. A second ago he said "non-inflammatory diet". A plant based diet full of contraindicated carbs & fiber IS inflammatory by definition. So, have we thought this through or just parroting the current, absolutely unequivocally false consensus, in order not to rock the boat?

I am sure, that was hamburger with this white bread????? Only meat with fat has not this effect. And lean meat with carbs, carbs without fat, this is much healthier. Thats why we cant eat carbs and fat in one meal! People this is important 😊

01:04:24 another contradiction. Although the human body is very good at keeping stomach acidity within a certain range, a diet rich in contraindicated plant material & low on meat will cause a decrease of acidity when continued long term. So another reason, why the mainstream narrativ is complete nonsense.
