I am telling you guys, you just make me smile, true teammates, ego-free, having fun, just playing the game. I am a US Veteran and it just reminds me of how in the military no matter if I was with Aussies or British or Canadians we all just got along because we all got it, we're here to watch each others back and that is what it is like whenever I watch any of the Wrexham team get interviewed.

No mention of Rob Lainton, who btw was our player of the season a few years ago, and I was one of those who voted for him. He is a top class goalie and was unlucky to get injured so often - unbelievably 3 times at Bromley

Mark played nearly every game last season and kept us in the fa Cup he contributed to winning the league last year more than what he got credit for great keeper played superb last night aswell 👏

When they're talking about Goalkeepers sitting on the bench for years and being professional etc. It makes me think of Gulasci at Liverpool... Szoboszlai spoke about Gulasci in his decision to join Liverpool... some keepers are just build different

It literally does not make sense releasing your best player of the year when you do be building a stronger squad around them type of players. Some call it cut-throat, I call it idiocy and ignorance from decision makers.

I am a Carlisle supporter, Mark Howard was brilliant for us the season he was with us, at the end of the season he wanted a 2 year contract plus nearly double his wages that's why Carlisle released him as he is over 30 years old

7:34 where I'm from we play with sin bins for dissent and I had to come off the bench to come on for the other keeper who got sin binned. We had him and one other get sin binned so we were playing with 9 for 10 minutes and having to come on in that situation was one of the worst things and it was against the team who went invincible the season before.

Wow, what a shitty deal! I thought Mark did an exceptional job as keeper while he was there. Of course he was exceptional when he came in. I'm glad there's no bitterness between them. Peace! 3:51

Yeah, it was definitely tough. His last match vs Maidenhead before Rob came back, where he let in that last minute goal to drop two points, was a difficult one. So there was immediately debates around Rob taking his spot back right when he was fit. When Rob went down with another injury there was questions about how much confidence they, or at least fans had in Mark. And it’s not even really his fault at all, the title race vs. Notts was so relenting that any slip up was scrutinized like crazy. Happened to Ollie, Mendy, Max, etc.

@@TES-541 yeah I think if I was a player goalie would be the last position I would want to play. There's a lot of glory when you do the right thing but there's a lot of heartache when you let one slip.

Problem with signing a team of 30's is that on average they'll cost more due to injuries and having nearly zero onsale value. While it will 100% work from a sporting perspective it would not work running a club.

That was for Rob Lainton. Mark signed because Rob got hurt end of last season into this one. When Rob got fit he came back but got hurt again after a few games. That’s when Ben signed on instead of Mark taking back the spot. All credit to Mark though, he started 32 league games last year whereas Ben and Rob only combined for 14.

Let's be honest. If Wrexham were mid-table or near the bottom, basically underachieving, there is not a chance in HELL that he's got this outlook on things. None of this is fake - I totally believe that Mark's sold in on the idea of winning promotion and trophies as a team. But if they were losing and fans got on their back, or Ben underperformed, he wouldn't be sticking it out. Found this interesting but it's also a really unique perspective. Look at the other sub-keepers in League 2. They're mostly young lads trying to learn and eventually get a starting spot. They're sub-keeper because they don't have another choice. Mark could get more games somewhere else, but not for a side achieving things that Wrexham do. All comes down to achievements, which - in Wrexham's case - is from them being filthy rich. Most keepers would be happy in the same situation.
