I agree that was a really badass and heroic moment but I feel like she didn't lie for Harry she lied for Draco because when she asked is Harry is Draco still alive and Harry whispered "yes" she knew the only way I will get to see my son is though Harry, if Draco died and Harry told Narcissa her son was dead I feel like things would have have gone very differently.but I don't blame her for only thinking of her son at the moment after all she is mother. now please please don't think that I am sexist because that is the last thing I would ever want to be next to a racist... But I sometimes say that some or most of the HP fanbase always favours the female characters like the female characters can chuck a piece of paper in the bin and the HP fanbase will be like "awwww she is such angel and a hero" but a male character can save the entire wizarding world and the fanbase will be like yeah whatever no big deal.

It's just completely in her character to backstab Voldermort to get what she wants, and I thought JKR pulled off that plot twist really well. I do think if Draco died though, that Narcissa might have still lied to Voldermort, out of revenge. For the second half of your comment, Im afraid I don't know the context you are referring too. I think people really like JKR's side characters in general, which is why the fan favourites are Snape and Draco. I think JKR makes her male side character very complex and fans like them. I feel like she makes her female characters either obviously good, or obviously bad, which is why Narcissa is so interesting, as being the only obvious female side character with grey morality in the books, hence the general fascination with her. I think you need only see how much people hate Cho Chang and Marietta Hedgecomb for acting like normal humans to realise that people DONT usually forgive female characters their mistakes more than the male ones. People generally hate Cho Chang, and like Snape. If you are referring to Harry Potter being underrated, then I would agree. I think it's because as kids, its harder to sympathise with the plight of being good and trying to do good, compared to the plight of being bad and still doing good sometimes. I think people have a higher bar for heroes than for villains after all. And most of the characters in the series are male, so it might seem like the guys aren't thanked enough, but that's because everyone is focusing on Snape and Draco. As an adult, Harry Potter is my favorite character.

@@hashimhussain5566 I think JKR wrote Slytherin as the dark house 100%, but then realised it made kids sorted into Slytherin feel bad so she tried to make Slytherins more complex. With that said, I think her writing gets better with the books too, so maybe her initial portrayal was just due to a lack of skill in writing nuance (that's perfectly normal). Evil/good is a simplistic way of writing, so as she got better at writing her character became more complex too, if that makes sense. I think that she clearly wants to make Slytherins less associated with evil, because if you consider the Cursed Child play to be her ideas, then she did choose to make 2 Slytherin boys the main heroes of a play (and Scorpius Malfoy is undoubtedly not "dark" at all), and gave Draco Malfoy and Snape more heroic stories there. So I think yes, in the first book, she wrote Slytherins to be the bullies. But as she went on in the series, she wanted to make it more interesting, so she wrote better Slytherin characters.

I think Narcissa lying to Voldy is the reason why whole family was pardoned and Harry told that to the Ministry 😅

In my opinion she didn't lie for Harry she lied for Draco because at the moment and I don't blame she did the right thing anyway at the moment she only cared for Draco and she knew the only way she'd see him was through Harry. Don't get me wrong I think it's very admirable and heroic what she done and Narcissa definitely isn't bad or evil but I think people just misunderstood she lied for Draco not Harry. @@alanplays2881 I think it was more due to Harrys support. I never liked the argument, that they got away because they fled the final battle. They commited many crimes before that. And Lucius didn't even finish his first (life long) prison sentence, because he was freed from Askaban.

She was not neutral at all. She only cared for herself and her family. And that at the cost of picking the evil side for all the years until the very last moment, but that action aswell was just based on her own ego. Not once did she do something because of some “good” only because of benefits contra potential loss (the ego in other words)

No that's wrong just because she didn't love Harry like a mother.Imo she only lied for the sake of Draco because at the point she didn't care about anyone else apart from him. Don't get me wrong I love that the heroic action from her it's very admirable but I just don't think she did it for Harry, I think when Harry told her that Draco was alive she thought ok I'll do him favour since he helped my son stay alive if Draco was dead I think she probably would've given Harry up. I just generally don't believe she cared about Harry and she only cared about Draco.

Both of these scenes needed to be there in the film. It's a sad misfortune that they were not.

Andromeda had her love from Ted Tonks who was happily married to until the death eaters/ snatchers tried to put him in prison for being muggle born and accusing him of stealing a witch or wizards magic.

Agreed, but technically I think he was able to shine once he got his own wand from Ollivander and no longer using his own father's wand. It's like Ron when he was using Charlie's old wand... Also his family tormented him chastising him his whole life and then being raised and seeing his parents in their condition affected him. The Death Eaters escaping Azkaban sparked his flame though and made him focus to avenge their deaths.

I think he found he found it by snooping around. Also probably drawn to evil places. And maybe he just heard the Basalisk hissing in the water pipes just like Harry did. Speaking parsiltongue he would have understood the Basilisk and it could have directed him to the opening.
