Ben, always enjoy when you and Bald journey together. Even though you two are exploring the same places and meeting the same people, your videos are unique. Both of you have your own way of filming these countries which is awesome. Mongolia wasn't a place I expected you guys to end up, but it was certainly an educational and eye opening look at the country, it seems sooooo vast and empty, except for the wild horses, and petrol factories. Watching from Amsterdam, the Netherlands. I have been to Mongolia in 2007, 2016 and 2022. Altogether almost 5 months. The last time with my 5yo son. My local friends insisted to drive from UB to Moron within one day, but I insisted on a stop on the way. In Erdenet we stayed with the girlfriend of our friend who works in mining there. It seems so different to travel there relatively unprepared and off season. I have been twice to Gobi and twice to Hövsgol. I think a great difference makes when you would have English speaking friends. My 5 year old son played with local children in all the places we past. He is half Dutch half Tibetan, so his looks are quite similar to Mongolian. The best experiences for me would be staying with local nomads in the countryside and being at Gaandan monastery. I like the non touristic point of view of both of you KZfaqrs, but I feel you would get more a sense of the country when you would stay longer with local people. Was nice to see the content and recognize the places, but I am glad it is not my first introduction to the country ;). Bayartaa from a Dutch woman :). Enjoy traveling!

What happened to your comrade's lungs? He said they were "messed up" but didn't elaborate further. I figure he might have gotten bubonic plague or asbestos in his lungs from crawling around in abandoned buildings (last year, on the daily bald channel, he was seen drinking from a decades-old beaker in an abandoned biochem lab in Georgia).
