The Mórrígan (also Morrigan, Morrígu, Mór-Ríoghain) is a striking figure from Irish mythology: known variously as an Irish Goddess, native Pagan deity in Ireland, or supernatural figure if we’re looking academically at Medieval Irish literature. The Mórrígan is most commonly associated with war and destruction; but she is actually a guardian Goddess of prophecy, magic, fate, territory and sovereignty, as well as foretelling doom, death or victory in battle. We can see this quite clearly once we look properly at the Irish mythology that we have available to examine.

This is obviously a very solid looking scholarly beginning to the source material as well as I expect an equally good beginning on some academic commentary about The Morrigan and related material. I'm not afraid of doing a deep dive into scholarly historical sources and commentary as I love history of certain periods, but I suspect it may still be challenging for a well-read amateur like myself and possibly others. Could you recommend or do a video on more accessible reading for people like myself? I enjoyed your previous reading from your book, "Tales of Old Ireland Retold..." and plan to order it online among others of yours. As far as commentary, I also enjoyed, what I'd have to call your exposition, to use the Christian preacher term, in another video of yours on an interaction between The Morrigan and Cu Chulainn, which made it more relatable to modern listeners. I'd like to see you do more of that, which you asked us about and I'm sure others like me would appreciate. Thanks so much and your work is greatly appreciated.
