I would've been interested in some noise levels and also a more in-depth review of the new features like.the swing arm ie is it all for show or any actual use at cleaning. Mine is in the post and should be with me in a few days so i guess I'll find out soon enough. Honestly tho....as much as i enjoy a good comparison video - this vacuum is so far above the competition at the moment that im not sure exactly what a comparison video would prove🤷🏻

I really appreciate your review of the Dreame L20. I've been waiting to see your review before making the purchase. I except the fact it will have some glitches out the gate, mostly software. The real trial is now that I have ordered it with the current Black Friday deals going on it, is for the testing of how it will do with my floors and carpet. For some reason I've tried some other products that the mop pad would cause drag on my carpet in certain areas causing the units to get stuck even with mop raising features. I feel the ability to leave the mop pads in the unit after it's completed mopping the floors will be a game changer and help tremendously.

This is awesome. I Just got Q Revo few months ago and I’m happy with it but I do hope that Roborock will implement edge mopping in next years Revo. While they are at it they should add baseboards cleaning. 😂The need to clean/brush the dock under the tray is a dealbreaker for me. Great review as always. Thank you 🙏

This may sound like a dumb question but the Dreame l20 ultra has self-removing mopping pads but do the pad reattach by themselves? It would seem like they should but I have not found any mention of that on any review site.

Great review as always! Appreciate your effort. I was hoping that dreame had resolved more of the software issues. How about the water supply? Did it fill up the internal tank properly and how big area does it mop before running out of water? Could you provide us with the height of the robot in mm? The lidar radar seems quite high.

Does the L20 have a problem with mops falling off in the middle of cleaning the house? I am wondering whether to buy the L10s ultra or the L20 to upgrade from my current Roomba 960 (purchased many years ago). Androidpolice mentioned l20 has disappointing mopping performance and your review seemed to have hinted at that too.

Would love to see the L20 Ultra vs the L10S Ultra comparison. I currently own the latter and it works very well, not planning to upgrade especially since I paid only 500$ for it a month ago (refurbished unit). At first, it had a problem with the water flow (very common according to the forums) but it was easily solvable with the straw method. This should not happen though, Dreame should solve the issue with the internal water conducts in the factory. Cheers.

Have to admit it, the L20 has the goods! These docks are getting a)really good and b) really big! This one, while nicely styled (if a bit pretentious wuth the brightwork) looks like an actual appliance. Or a Wine chiller, lol!

I've had the L20 since release here is the States. Dreame had to send a replacement unit because mine was making a noise. It sounded like a gas powered weed whacker. The replacement is working fine. I also have the L10s Ultra.

I'd love to see the L20 ultra compared to the L10s ultra, Roborock S7 MaxV ultra and the Q revo. Cheers!

slightly random question - does that dock cleaning base (the removable, washable part) fit the L10s ultra? It was disappointing to see the L10s Ultra have an ‘open’ style which lets dirt get to the base below. the closed setup of the L20 ultra is much neater

Your reviews are great. I bought the q8 Revo which I liked. But the base station started leaking after 2 months. Would you say this would be a good replacement for Revo?

Excellent review! I'm considering this product for my home, but I have a second floor. Could you please explain the process for using it upstairs? Do I need to manually carry the device up every day for cleaning? Additionally, what would be the behavior of the Robovac if it needs to wash the mop during the cleaning cycle (up stairs) while the base station is on a different floor?

When returning to the base station to wash the mop pads, and while returning to the room to continue mopping, does the robot lift the mop pads? I have an older robot that doesn't lift, and drags dirt all over the house when going to and returning from washing mop pads.

First of all thanks for the videos! I do realize the Roborock s8 pro ultra and this are both great. If you had to pick one for mostly vinyl flooring with the occasional rug and no pets. Which would be more ideal?

Great review Jamie! I've had my L20 Ultra for a couple of weeks now and thus far I'm very satisfied. One thing that I've noticed mine does every now and then is that it seems to be confused as to where to go next and spins around, but it always seems to figure it out. Also, it seems to leave a random area unmopped only to come back at a later time to take care of it, even if it's moved on to another room. Likely, some sort of efficiency algorithm but I often will have fun watching the map just to see if it remembers to go back, it does! With the latest update, there is a section pertaining to the external water/sewage kit, which I'm really looking forward to.

Do you think the L20 edges out the Roborock S7 Max or S8 Pro? Specifically for a home with full hardwood floor in the entire first level with a medium sizes area rug in the family room. Thanks !

Ordered the dream l30 just now

I've had the L20 for a few days now and still working out how to use it completely. I have small kids, and pets and trying to work out what setting would be appropriate for their mess level is a work in progress. We don't seem to have any real issues except the swing arm doesn't seem to be coming out but I think that's because I need to adjust a setting (instead of "Intelligent") and as it's our first robovac we are setting up rooms and carpets and all that. It does do it's navigational spin every now and then but in general seems to work well so far and navigation doesn't really seem to be an issue for us - except when I had trouble getting it to recognise another room - only seems to add them after the initial mapping when in "room clean" or "all" mode rather than zone cleaning which I guess does make sense. Also I don't understand how the spot cleaning button works but I have the buttons on the robot and the dock turned off anyway as we have a 1yr old. Object avoidance works really well and that's one of the main reasons I got this model over other ones so that's great to hear. I look forward to how Dreame hopefully improve the firmware going forward. Would also love more comparison and features videos. My wife also complained about the app and said it's not very user friendly, which is true but I don't think it's too bad but I'm also more "technically-inclined" and willing to learn how to go about getting it to do the things i want it to do than she is so I don't know if that's just a her thing.

Great review, I’ve just ordered one from Amazon UK. The UK doesn’t seem to be able to get the black, only the white but I don’t mind. I previously had the L10s and loved it so I’m looking forward to this one but I know what you mean by the software quirks at first. I also had to do the straw method on my L10s do you have to do that with the L20?

Did you measure the noise levels? Especially for the auto-empty? Some testers mention that this product is more noisy because of the high suction power. But my pets would prefer quieter robot. Sould I go for the L10s Ultra?

I got my L20 Ultra just a few days ago, can confirm that the navigation issues are not an issue for me, could be that they have already fixed it. It is absolutely a game changer, our house have never been so clean.

A couple of months ago, I made a $20 deposit on the pre-release version of this L20 Robot. Should I follow through, or wait a few months for a firmware updated version?

Wich would you advice? L20 max ultra or S7maxv ultra? Seem those are best at object avoidance, but now hesitate to buy L20 ultra beacause it has difficulties to find his way...

The quarter round molding is not part of the actual baseboard. It was added because whomever installed the hardwood floors didn't remove the existing baseboards. I removed over 500 linear feet of baseboards to install all of my floors so that I could get them up to the wall (minus a quarter inch to account for expansion on the foam underlayment) and then re-installed the baseboards over the install edge of the floors. No quarter round needed and my L20 works perfectly in this regard. Just wish it worked better getting under the kitchen cabinet overhangs.

Features, and functions are nice. How durable is it? How long is the warrenty, and how easily is it to get service? Its a $1500 machine, it needs to last.

What's the navigation like 6 months later? Any improvements via firmware?

Can you fill up the detergent container with some other detergent?

Did any firmware updates resolve the issues?

I just returned my S8 Pro Ultra. It was very inconsistent. Sometime sit would go days and work perfectly then have several days where it would get “stuck” on absolutely nothing. For $1800 it better be perfect! So I just ordered the Dreame L20 Ultra. It’s on sale $350 off on Amazon. I am excited about it but I was just really surprised and concerned to find out n this review that it only has an 80 ML water tank, that is tiny and less than half the size of the one on the S8. The mopping feature is very important to me and my entire house is tile. I guess as long as it returns to the dock and continues when it runs out of water why should it matter. But it seems like it is going to take way longer to mop my house.

Do these thing fall down stairs? We have an open staircase to the basement.

only thing i dont like about dreame is EE and PCB quality is a tier lower than roborock. I tried one of their earlier D9s. Picked up dust better than my S6, but general nav was worse. Maybe they improved. I havent looked in a couple years.

Would love to see L20 agains X2 Omni. So far there are only paid reviews of X2 that are worthless. I trust you way more with the reviews.

Two things happened today with my unit: 1.) carpet recognition (probably ultrasonic sensor) went down, factory reset helped for now. This sensor was totally faulty in my previous Dreame L10S Ultra - returned it & bought L20... Looks that it might be defective too, probably same sensor hardware is installed in both models 2.) vacuum started to make clicking noise during some movements, but easiest way to reproduce this "clicking" is to switch to remote control in camera mode and listen when it stops when we are releasing forward button... Anyone experienced such issues? I am dissapointed in quality, if problem with sensor repeats or this clicking noise will get louder I will fight with shop for money refund and maybe try with Roborock Q Revo :/

Thanks for the review. I used to have S7 MaxV Ultra which I loved, but it died, so I was looking for a replacement. There isn't any other robot that would check all the boxes for me, that's why I got the L20 Ultra about 2 weeks ago. I agree with the build quality issues. One issues I have encountered is the PCB inside the dock station being loose and vibrating inside when the drying motor is running, I found a workaround when you apply pressure to the power connector, it stops. Anyway, other than that, the robot has been totally flawless. I also got the auto water refill / drain kit and I love it. I didn't find any navigation issues or software bugs yet, also there has been a FW update about 4 days ago. We have a dog and a child, so the robot has a lot of work every day and with the auto refill kit it is almost zero maintenance.

With all due respect, your floor moulding sticks out weirdly far at the bottom so I can see why the robot would get confused by it. Have you seen if it has the same issues with flat moulding?
