Way too loud of a machine, doing anything really especially emptying the damn dust been.. shiit like damn jet taking off in the whole house. Then annoying pad washing BEFORE AND AFTER. TF you washing it before you been just sitting there after you washed it after the last job. 🤦🏻 Then come in the dam smell if you don't clean the docking station bord and a filter for a few days like sulfur rotten eggs. Always out the damn water too.. Gtf out of here ..

Great review! I have a question though.. does the integrated water tank get slimey? I was hoping to be able to clean it once a while and a little concerned about eventually making the tank moldy. Did Roborok answer you to all the problems you identified? And if so, when to wait for their correction? Can all problems be fixed only by updating the robot or base through the robot? And how are things with the brush module, they say the s8 pro ultra had problems with the airflow, which caused the power to be lost, have you noticed this in the new robot?

Jamie: do you know a way to change the default cleaning mode from mop and vac to vac only for Instance? I never use mop and vac as I do then separately. I notice after selecting vac, it stays it that mode for a bit then reverts back to mop and vac. Routines seems the only easy work around

I have the S5 and it's pretty good, but it would be nice if it had the S7's LED lights and edge-to-edge on both sides of the mop. On problem the S5 has is that it can't handle much short dog hair. It captures some of it, but it sometimes leaves clumps of it on the floor. And it's not as though my house has piles of dog hair everywhere. The floor is cleaned regularly and the hair cannot be seen on the floor. I also have a Hizero and it doesn't have the issue with leaving clumps of hair on the floor.

Dreame L20, X40 ultra or roborock Q revo maxV

I’m stuck between a rock and a hard place. I have the S4 that I want to upgrade, but I don’t know whether to go for the S8 Pro Ultra vs S8 Max Ultra. I have all vinyl floor with one big carpet in the living room. I have no pets, just a family of 3. I saw your review regarding the FlexiArm in the S8 MaxV Ultra and it makes me wonder whether I want to shell out the extra money for the Max Ultra given the arm doesn’t do a good job around the corners. I do like the dirt detection and auto detergent dispenser feature though! Any suggestions Jamie?

Unfortunatelly not a word on floor to ceiling mirrors and how the robot fares with that. Absolutely no one does that. And that topic is nonexistent for producers either. I have quite a few of them and am still looking for a self cleaning vacuum-mop robot which can deal with that and effectively clean my home. I had dreame l10s ultra and roborock q revo at home, and they where terribly useless and were returned. Any advice, except for getting rid of mirrors? ;)

@roborockglobal Unfortunately Roborocks "trade-in" to upgrade to the S8 Max V program is a scam. We sent in our photos for our roborock S8 pro Ultra that we've had since November for evaluation and received an "A" rating. The vacuum was in immaculate condition with less than 24 hours of total use. We're a no-shoes household free of kids, pets, and carpeting, so our floors don't see heavy soil anyways. We went ahead and bought and installed the new S8 Max V, received it in the mail, got it installed, and roborock just today (5/7/24) "changed" the rating on the Pro Ultra vacuum we just traded in to a "D" rating. They said "Your vacuum cleaner is heavily worn or damaged with significant cosmetic issues and/or functional problems". To be blunt, that's a load of BS. We packaged the trade in robot similarly to how they ship out the new ones out and we had a tracking number on the shipment so we'd know if the box had tumbled out of the delivery truck or something dramatic like that. The roborock vacuums are very capable. Unfortunately, roborock the company is currently pulling a bait and switch scam on it's existing customers.

@jamie.andrews please do a review on the dreame x40 ultra and by that i mean a comparision review. Did they solve the hot water with the heated water?

The product line of T8, T9 (and/or Plus) have very great reputation. I've been on 2nd T8+ as my first T8+ broke its right wheel after servicing vacuuming/mopping of 550,550 SQFT - yes I do not type it wrong, it ran great almost exact 3 year of service. I returned it to Bestbuy for full refund since it had 4 years warranty. I got my 2nd T8+ from Ebay $250, brand new and it's starting again its vacuum/mop operation 6 months, , zero issue! Look forward for another 3 years on my 2nd T8+ .... Cheap actually very cheap to have robot to run around, vacuum and mop :) !!
