I worked in a retreading factory in the 90s and this is perfectly normal. One has to understand that you can't just retread or regroove tyres with out the casings been deigned for this purpose. Truck tyres are designed for load and not high speeds and retreading a tyre a couple of times is not uncommon. However tyres are checked for damage foreign objects sidewall damage and the age of the virgin casing. What you aren't seeing is the amount of casings being dumped because they didn't make the grade. Would I drive a tyre that's retreaded on a passenger car absolutely not passenger tyres are not designed for retreading. We also retreaded a lot of aeroplane tyres once the virgin casings had made a specified amount of retreadings they would be sold to another company that would turn them into tyres for agricultural machines tractors etc. I can guarantee you if it wasn't for the retreaders you would be swimming in truck and aeroplane tyres. We even sold some of our damaged casings to overseas companies that would remove the belts etc and send them to scrap metal and the remaining rubber would be turned into pellets and added to asphalt to improve adhesion on roads. So tip your hats to these guys and say good job.

Not if the companies have to do it in your home country though, They probably charge you almost the same price as a new tyre, but outsource it to 3rd world country like this and then ship back

In Europe we consider a tyre (understand the wire structure) can have 4 life. 1st life : new tire 2nd life : regrooving 3rd : new thread band (what we see in this video) 4 : regrooving Then we consider the tire skeleton to damage. But there some country who don’t care about damage… so they continue to regrooving and retreading 😂

But it will be cheaper compared to the original. And considering how often truck tyres get replaced. I would say this work is worth it. Throwing a perfectly good tyre without any damages would be a waste of resources.

This must be the kind of tires I had when I was a teen. I was on the highway when 3 of my tires all the tread came off and the tires stayed aired up and I lost traction than rolled over.😮

Есть резина газ-51-52 как новая, но выглядит странно как будто восстановленная брал у деда 20 лет назад. А Он унего осталась работал когдато походу с 80ых годов такчто у нас также восстанавливали

Hay que pensar el estado y resistencia que tiene el resto del neumático, no solo la parte que esta en contacto con el suelo. Esta bien, queda muy bonito...pero el resto que es el que soporta el peso está mas vencido. Muchas veces explotan a los costados sin hacer este proceso, imagínate recauchandolo varias veces.

Trabajo en Continental Tires en Brasil, fabricando neumáticos. Conozco la complejidad y cuántas pruebas hacemos para liberar un centavo para las ventas. Esto supone un riesgo para el conductor y las ruedas en la carretera.

HGV mechanic here, this doesn’t last. The amount of re-treaded tyres I’ve seen with the re-tread pealing off near the side wall makes me nervous. I always encourage customers to replace them as soon as possible

Don't use these patch tires, they are very stupid and cause danger to other road users, especially motorbikes, in my country it is illegal to use these tires Because there have been many times motorcycle users have crashed and had accidents because these tires were removed and left on the side of the road, this is to save the cost of changing new tires,When the tires are bald, they should be replaced when they are old instead of patched like this
