Күн бұрынI was speaking with my DP friend and we talked about how it's so important having a 1st AC on set and potentially having them per camera if possible. They are definitely one of the more important roles on a set and makes life so much easier for the DP.
This video is extremely different than normal. I wanted to do a vlog type of video and take you all on a day in a life of a 1st AC as he shows how he camera preps for a film production and why camera prepping is so important. In this Video I wanted to talk about what the role of a 1st AC is and why that role is so important.

Thank you!!! I think it’s super important! We can talk about creating and cameras all days but you don’t learn till you’re doing. And no one teaches that transition from solo filmmaking to now getting on these big sets and not having imposter syndrome.

What are some paths to take to become AC?

I would say if you can reach out to some ACs grab coffee with them and just ask all the questions you can. You could also try going to a rental house and trying to connect and learn from them. There’s more videos on KZfaq as well about AC. And if you have friends that are film ask if you could ac or follow an AC for the day on set. You could also start as a PA and be on set and that will allow you to get in close proximity with an AC to learn from

@@kerrymichaeldpI appreciate your comment. I am learning videography and was listening to the video in my car. Abbreviations should be explained verbally initially and then shortcuts can come after the video explanation. Now that I’m home, I can finally “see” the pop-up.
