I'd like to think that by taking care of myself, I've invested in the lower likelihood of bad stuff happening and that if bad stuff does happen, I've invested in an easier time recovering.

I love the ending comment about not striving for perfection and that you could do everything "right" and still have issues. Trying to do everything perfectly was just giving me anxiety about food and my health, especially since I felt like I had to overhaul everything all at once. But now I've been going slow and doing the best I can in small increments and I've definitely seen an improvement in my mental health. Thanks again for a great video!

Wow i didn’t know that waa the recommend amount of daily fiber. I love what you added to your salad. I'm going to try to add 5 more grams daily this week.

Love this topic and this video was perfect!!! Short, sweet, to the point! I will send folks to this video when I try to convince folks that they need to eat more fiber!! SO underrated! It helps us stay full longer too! I notice a huge difference in my overall satisfaction and satiety when I get enough fiber. And yes, we don't have to be "optimal" all the time! We're all just trying our best and that is good enough!

Fibre (I’m in the UK so -re ending for me 😀) is very much the ugly sister of the food world but why the hell shouldn’t she go to the ball?💃Plus, along with all the other benefits, if weight loss is your goal it helps there too (according to Mick the Vegan, one study involving a diet high in fibre from wholegrains and starchy carbs lead to a 13% loss of total body weight after 6 months compared to 11% at the same stage for people taking everyone’s favourite new weight loss “wonder drug”) - plus all the added benefits of actually changing your behaviour etc). Take that Ozempic!👊

Do skittles count as part of the rainbow? 😂 All kidding aside just eat your fruit & veggies plus some whole grains. As for not doing things right just look at George Burns, smoked cigars & drank like a fish and still lived into his 90s.

That may work for some, but I never prescribe a single diet to an entire platform of viewers.

It depends on what kind of vegan diet you choose. Vegan keto, Eco-Atkins, High carb low fat, whole-food plant based, and junk food vegan are all going provide different amounts of nutrients.

Yeah, even just being a non-strict vegetarian (I suddenly developed an aversion to the taste of every meat that wasn't fish), I was so low in protein that my nails and hair growth slowed to less than an inch in a year. Focusing on how food makes me feel helps me to eat a diet rich in fruits, vegetables, healthy fats, and proteins. Trying to cut out anything tends to lead me to restricting.
