Develop the Ogoshi Throw and many other Jujitsu throws with the FREE TRITAC Intro Course: tritacmartialarts.com/course
The Ogoshi Jujitsu throw, also known as the big or major hip throw, is considered one of the most powerful throws in Jujitsu for a few reasons.
First, it utilizes the hips and legs to generate a lot of force. In this Ogoshi No Gi video we'll use a variety of grips and setups, but the most dominant is the side clinch and bodylock.
Second, it is a versatile throw that can be done from a variety of attacks - including grappling exchanges, punch defense and weapon defense.
Finally, it is a throw that is relatively easy to learn and execute. Many Jujitsu throws have complex footwork and body movements, but the Ogoshi is relatively easy to learn and develop. This makes it a great throw for beginners to learn, but it can also be used effectively by advanced practitioners.
The Ogoshi is considered one of the most powerful throws in Jujitsu due to its utilization of the hips and legs, versatility, and ease of execution.

Good video with detailed explanation. Ogoshi is one of my favorite nagewaza. As the title says, it is a powerful throw. One small suggestion. If you see the opponent fall, you left a lot of torque energy unused. If uke is going over you right hip, look to the left behind you as you reach the highest part of the throw. That little extra torque turns a hard slam into a debilitating crash into the earth👍🥋.

Another brilliant JJJ adaptation. I see you with the bear hug arms pinned, adding the knee and step through to ogoshi, Imm have to borrow that one, and of course give credit where credit is due :)

I love Harai Goshi the most, mainly because it places so much of my body weight on opponents chest.
