Key & Peele

4 жыл бұрын

Two people trying out a new Macedonian restaurant inadvertently find themselves caught in the middle of a fierce cultural rivalry.
About Key & Peele:
Key & Peele showcases the fearless wit of stars Keegan-Michael Key and Jordan Peele as the duo takes on everything from "Gremlins 2" to systemic racism. With an array of sketches as wide-reaching as they are cringingly accurate, the pair has created a bevy of classic characters, including Wendell, the players of the East/West Bowl and President Obama's Anger Translator.

I had this experience with a polish person trying to teach me to pronounce some word. He'd say it to me, I'd repeat it exactly (so I thought), and he'd say, no, no! and pronounce it again. I love this video! For the most part it’s actually accurate, as a Macedonian I can confirm that most Balkan countries love their food and everyone thinks they invented the food they cook. The bigger problem is actually most of the Balkan foods were almost all of them or in part brought to us by the Turkish ( Ottoman ) we just changed the recipe a little or gave it a slightly different name. 😂😂

I learned this the hard way, when as a New Zealander I casually said to my then-new boyfriend from Bulgaria after a few meals including things like kebapchete, cucumber salad, yogurt, and lokum, "Oh, so your food is very much like Turkish food, then". @@AboveEmAllProduction I respectfully disagree. Both out shine one another in certain skits. In this skit in particular you believe peele out performs key solely on his support role. He helped, alot. But watch all the way to the end and watch/hear peele's impersonation of the characters... then you will understand why they themselves chose Key to be the lead. Peele was great background support. Key did an amazing impersonation that peele couldn't do... fact.

Holy balls this reminds me of visiting little Italy in NYC. My friend and I were just walking around checking the views. It was winter, no business in any restaurant that I could see. Then we were ushered by a man in a long fur coat into his Italian restaurant. By ushered I mean he was like “you’re hungry?” And we said “yeah we’re just looking around seeing what option there are” and he grabbed us by our shoulders, him in the middle, and took us into his empty restaurant, where a waiter immediately asked us what we wanted. I then watched him take off his long fur coat indoors to only reveal a vest made of the same fur underneath. Best food I’d had in a while.

@@mattmoves5920 one dish does not make for great cuisine. I agree, Naples has the best pizzaiolos, and I bow down to them on all things "pizza", but for everything else, one must go to Bologna (or the region Emilia Romagna).
