I like the plot point of younger Scorpion seeing his rebuilt clan and changing his mind to help the heroes but old Scorpion didn't deserve to die.

Also the fact his brother and best friend were corrupted by evil (and killed by them in their Deception ending), Frost turns against him, and his former clansmate Cyrax is automated. And this occurs in both timelines.

Reptile is also tortured as well, he got almost his whole race wiped away due to the battle between shinnok and raiden, he has been defeated so many times and was controlled by onaga at one point. Funny thing is reptile isnt a bad guy he just wanna restore his race but due to villains minipulating him to do evil quest many thinks he is bad.

Master Hanzo in MK11 is my favorite version of the ninja. He is mature and dropped his wish to bring back his dead family and clan. It was pointless so he decided to move on with his life making a brand new Shirai Ryu. For a few years he was happy. Master Hanzo died happy.

I think it would be appropriate to compare Scorpion to Spider-Man. The guy gets put through the wringer time and time again, but still keeps getting back up to keep fighting. Even when things go bad, he just keeps getting back up. I guess not necessarily Spider-Man in particular, but a majority of comic book heroes. They get put through so much, but keep getting back up every time. No matter how many Ls they get, no matter how many times they get the crap beaten out of them, no matter how much they go through, they just keep getting back up. Maybe that's why we like Scorpion. We can all enjoy the guy who never stays down.

Well the reason why protagonists is put through so much is because if they didn't then it wouldn't be much of a story right? Think about it, if a story does does cripple their characters or have some sort if struggle to overcome then it would wouldn't have any sort of direction to progress the narrative; they would essentially be a mary sue character. There was an old saying that the romans use to say which I think goes like this: the harder the struggle, the greater the victory. Or at least I think it's something like that.

Lol, it wasn't scorpion's fault in Deception. Not much people to this day can beat Shujinko. He's one of the strongest characters in the verse. He's a grand master. He can copy the power of anyone he fights. He has trained all his life and isn't amped by any amulet or medallion lol. He took care of Onaga. He's a beast.

It says alot about how to write a great character when the best MK character suffers the most. So many of these characters in modern games are perfect and don't fail nor struggle. They have no character arc. Scorpion has always struggled but achieved victory in the end. That's why people love him.

At least he had a happy life in MKX and MK11. Making and being the leader of a new Shirai Ryu It was short but it was the only time Hanzo was happy. Master Hanzo died happily

I would say Cyrax and Sindel were tormented quite a lot too, Scorpion might of only been tormented more because he was in every part of the MK timelime. Cyrax lost everyone he cared about and had his humanity taken from him, he was unfinished in MK11 kept as an NPC and basically was on screen for 5 minutes before sacrafising himself. Sindel lost her entire kingdom and husband to Shao Kahns invasion and was mind controlled for 2 games.

As a Cyrax fan I'm waiting for a game where he stays in the Special Forces and expands on his new life, maybe where Sektor wins over Sub Zero and becomes the Grandmaster of the Lin Kuei and gives him a goal of restoring the other cyborgs and rebuilding the Lin Kuei to defend Earthrealm. Idk what to do with Sindel, Maybe a canon version of what they did in Deception with Ermac.

Cyrax and Scorpion have been throuh some shit, but Twindel did that one to herself in the NRS timeline. If anything, Kitana has been through worse than any Female Character (including ACTUAL Sindel)

For the elder god sakes, he is one of the poster boys!! So mostly the Elder Gods knew Shujinko was bringing together the Kamidogus because they watch the realms, and they didn't have Raiden go and warn Shujinko about what he was really doing? And not only that but Shujinko still thinks it's all his fault for Onaga's return although all this time it was The Elder Gods because they decided for whatever reason not to have Raiden go and warn Shujinko, to stop Onaga's return and also stop Onaga from bringing back the One Being?

It's all quite last minute. Scorpion get's thrown into the soulnado, while at the same time Raiden is fighting the Deadly Alliance. At the same time Onaga is already reborn and on his way to retreive the amulet. The Elder Gods probably only noticed Onaga's return when it was too late.

Ah, like the churning inferno that blazes in the sun, Scorpion's rage and torment is never-ending.. He is the original hero, the true protagonist of protagonists, whose fate sees him dead, before his very first entry into the existence of gaming, in Mortal Kombat. I am now, have been, and forever will always support Scorpion in every decision he takes in his road to redemption.. I do hope to see him, one day as the winner, and champion of Mortal Kombat!

His relentlessness is exactly why he’s the fan favorite. Never giving up in the face of adversity and an amazing design is the perfect formula for a beloved character. Wouldn’t it be more compelling if LK wasn’t the chosen one and grew into the strongest as the protagonist ?

He wasn't the choen one. At least, not in the original timeline. He did earn his victories and did so without killing. Pretty sure Liu Kang being the "Chosen One" only appeared in the original 95 movie, and then again in the animated movies. The rebooted games use it mockingly (other characters call him it as a joke).

I don't like how they try to make a victim out of Scorpion. Scorpion has never been a good guy. He was an assassin and he paid the price. He died because he took Quan Chi's order and got in the way of Sub-Zero. If he would have rejected Quan Chi's order and tried to stay in his clan and protect them, he would have been able to survive and save his family. He took a crooked path and paid for it, but this is just my interpretation of his story.

I wouldn't say that modern Scorpion is being turned to a victim, but rather a man who has committed lots of wrong-doings and suffered many losses and is trying to overcome them and become a better person with his main obstacles being some outside intereference and his own flaws as an individual.

In MK Legacy, we saw him in the form of an honest samurai who went to meet his shogun, on the way of which he was killed. In MK 2021 (movie), we also see him as a kind, settled family man who did not wish harm to anyone, and scum from the Lin Kuei come and slaughter his entire clan. And you mean they don't try to make an innocent lamb out of the new Hanzo?

Scorpion was not a good person in life. He went straight to hell after Sub-Zero folded him like an empty purse. So, he does deserve at least some of what he gets.

No way would he have survived if he rejected Quan Chi. Plus, it wasn't on him to reject it. Scorpion wasn't the Grandmaster back then. The Grandmaster would've accepted a job from Quan Chi and sent Scorpion to do it. I doubt Scorpion even knew who the client was. But Scorpion was loyal to the clan. He followed orders. Sure those orders often involved killing and illegal things. But don't forget he was just a regular human with no special powers (like control of fire or anything). That's what gave Sub Zero such a huge advantage over him. Quan Chi's Brotherhood of Shadows are a clan of demons. They ambushed the Shirai Ryu. Scorpion being there would not have assured them victory or his survival. Also, who said he chose that "crooked path"? Maybe he was born into the clan, and remained loyal to his family. Sure he'd done bad things and went to Hell as punishment. There he was consumed by hatred and vengeance and was reborn a Specre. He got revenge for his own death. But after that he tried to attone for his sins and even vowed to protect the second Sub Zero. Now as a Specre / a literal spirit of vengeance... protecting someone is going against his undead nature - he's constantly at odds with that nature and when he gets wronged throughout the series he slips back towards that nature and can't resist it. No matter what, whenever he tried to do good he always gets screwed over. But at least he's trying to punish those who deserve it (Bi Han, Quan Chi, Onaga, etc). That's why he's always been considered an anti-villain. Nobody is claiming he's the hero, but he sure isn't the villain. Don't even try to bring Legacy into ths. It's literal fan-fic and takes a giant turd on Scorpion and the MK franchise. The recent movie at least has the official licence, but was written by one of the writers on Legacy.... so you know they're going to take massive liberties with it and it's not going to be accurate in the slightest.

Sektor's my pick for most tortured character because in the story modes he's in, he gets his ass kicked nearly every time I think. Also, Scorpion took all of Liu Kang's credit for all the work he's done in the games where he was the main character. Another good pick would be Liu Kang. I mean he dies over and over again, Johnny Cage seems more like a main character than Liu Kang nowadays.

Hanzo Hasashi is the most tortured soul in Mortal Kombat history, he has always been my favorite character in the Mortal Kombat series and that will never change for me, he never did get his wife Harumi and son Satoshi back beacuse of Quan Chi Killing both of them in each timeline, even with time resetting itself in Mortal Kombat 11s Aftermath, I just pray Hanzo Hasashi doesn't suffer the same fate yet again in the Mortal Kombat series, you did a cool video TrueUnderDawgGaming I am impressed ✌️

SCORPION is my all-time favorite MK character. I specially watch and play MK just because of him. And im really surprised why people hates such an iconic ninja. Let's look at what makes him so damn popular. For me there are 3 reasons 1. He looks like a human but when he removes his mask there is a skull instead of a full human face, quite a mystery right. Many people won't agree with me but he is better than Ghost Rider as ghost rider is still a human with hellfire powers but SCORPION is an undead ninja with hellfire powers and his unique skills, teleportation and inhuman strength give him an edge over Ghost Rider. Not to mention SCORPION can rip someone's head along with spine with his bare hands. Apart from these there are much more reasons which i can write here to prove that he is the best. Hell even if i compare Avengers or any MARVEL character then also SCORPION is always at the top of my list as he is so damn cool and fun to play or watch. Now to all those haters who hate SCORPION "Do u all hate because he is so damn popular, popular than ur favorites, or is it because of this damn rumour that "SCORPION is very much overrated". If this is the reason then let me tell u all one thing. In any game or movie one have to be the best and one have to be the worst but that doesn't mean the worst character will receive all the love just because he is underrated and the best will receive the hate for being popular among fans. Anyway i always love SCORPION. He is, was and will always be my main and im always proud to say this. Hell by watching these types of videos made me love him even more. Because even though he is so damn cool(if not for all atleast for me) he is the most hated character just because of some stupid rumours. Use your common sense guys, honestly. Everybody should listen to your own desire and love ur main rather than judjing who deserves more love or more hate.

Dvorah killed Scorpion with the same stab she got him with in Mkx. That was super inconsistent on both fronts and it just looks like Scorpion allowed himself to die for dramatic effect.

When i saw the animated movie of Scorpions Revenge for the first time, i really thought Sub Zero killed his whole family and clan. Then the plot twist was that it was Quan Chi who did and was the cause of Scorpions and Sub Zeros rivalry. I'm glad the movie and games confirmed this because in the live action movie from 2021 it was Bi Han who actually killed Hanzos family so i got confused there. Oh and when Scorpion killed Quan Chi in the animated movie i was satisfied 😂 because bro deserved it and is a coward.

TBH as a kid i rlly liked scorpion but he took so many L’s (like bro was treated like an npc in an online game)… I was so disappointed that no one ever noticed that…. I feel like if scorpion won all the time we wouldn't like him. I can't speak for everyone but I like scorpion due to how relatable he is and you can't help but feel for the guy. If he just caught a bunch of w's he wouldn't be relatable and you wouldn't feel his pain.

I loved the Scorpion movie because he finally took the spotlight he deserved. However claiming that he is the face of MK because of Ed Boon makes absolutely no sense. He wasn’t the main character of any video game in the series and he has never had a solo game. He is the face of Mortal Kombat because he is the most popular. That’s it. It’s ok to like different characters but don’t let your hate for a fictional character blind you to reality. Boon wants to make money. Having scorpion on the cover sells. Heck, if Stryker could sell more copies then he would be on the cover. Boon can care less about that.
