The dogs and I have finally left our dream spot in Wyoming, inching our way closer to the Tetons. We got comfortable in a beautiful spot and then….sickness hit. There is nothing worse than being sick in the van when you can’t get comfortable or stretch out. This week we did our best to turn lemons into lemonade.

In my tiny apartment, I used to have a couch but it was old and second hand. When it finally died, I couldn't afford another couch. And you're right when you're not feeling good, and you only have your bed. You really miss not having that couch.

Be aware that this is the time of year when bears are trying to eat 10X their normal daily food, about 20,000-30,000 calories a day to fatten up for the winter(hyperphagia) and they become extremely food driven. A few days ago there was a bear attack in Banff of a husband and wife and their dog and all were killed, both had deployed a can of bear spray which did not deter the aggressive Grizzly. What the Canadian Park Service officials failed to inform the public about was that the berries the bears normally gorge on this time a year are in short supply, because of the weather earlier in the season the berry bushes had a bad growing year and low yield of fruit and bears would be looking for other food sources to fatten up for winter hibernation. Keep a close eye on your surroundings, keep a large canister of Frontiersman max strength bear spray handy(consider a backup canister too), and watch out for changes in behavior from your pups, they will likely notice or smell a bear before you do.

You should work for the wyoming tourism board - great shots (and the music fit well, too)! Basically convinced me to plan a road trip there next summer. Adds to the collection of some pretty epic spots you've hit in the last few months! Happy travels.

By the way you talk of your surroundings on this video, and the fact that you like the sheer openness of that landscape, your love of Dogs and your romantic side, your thoughtfulness and empathie for others, and joy of being alone..., you must also be a cancerian. I could see me never getting fed up with a view like you have on those two locations, wether it was from a van or a log cabin. Look after yourself, get well soon and thanks for taking us along... even though it needs some work being done, to do so.

I can certainly understand your need for more space. I knew a van would not work for me. I'm building out a shuttle bus. Overall, it is 20 feet long, 16 feet of which is livable space. So I'll have roughly 128 square feet to work with. I'm building a twin bed, bathroom, and kitchen; and I'll have a dinette that can fit up to 6 people when expanded, and also converts to a sofa and queen bed. I didn't go with an RV because I wanted to build based on my needs. I also will be working remotely, so I wanted some comfort. Best of luck figuring out what will work best for you, Charlie, and Penny.

So many things in this video relevant to me :). I just had what sounds like the same thing except shorter … 2 semi-miserable days with a truly miserable day in the middle and 3 lousy nights. A nice dry tickle cough to linger for ???. I haven’t had even a slight cold for many years. And the last was when I was RVing! In a Class A, 2 slides, jacks and all mod cons including a couch and a recliner. Personally, I like the recliner when I have stuffy head. Only 1 dog. Still miserable as it was HOT and the dog needed walking and I had a fever. BUT, this recent round and my little 1 br/1ba in NW Montana … still a struggle for that 1 day. I trained my dog for off leash and he will not leave the front porch without me. I have been considering downsizing to a small Class C and full timing again … for just a year or so. On to your comments about “breaking camp”. One advantage that I will not likely give up is towing. I tow a Jeep Wrangler which is easy (4 down) as well as allows me to run to a store or whatever without packing up. And my Motorhome is probably easier than your van … usually about 15 min to stow items, pull in slides, up jacks and go. BUT fuel cost and where I can go. Ultimately I am trying to decide how to balance drive ability/access/living space and $$$. My 2003 Motorhome is paid for and I’ve had it for 18 years so know it backwards and forwards. Good engine, good chassis … but the size and cost to move. Plus I want to explore OR/WA/BC coast and it just will not do that as easily as something smaller. Plus, I am 68 and although in good shape, all of the stuff is a bit more challenging. So ??? Thanks for sharing your experience and thoughts!

I love my class C Winnebago with one slide. Only 25 feet but perfect for me. Made the center of the RV into a lounge with a 6 inch tri fold bed over it. I have two big dogs. I also have a bed over the cab. Storage for me. And my queen bed in the back. I use a wooden folding table if I need to. I have a full bath with shower. Inside and outside shower. No way would I live without some comfort with my dogs. Best investment ever. Big frig and microwave and 2 burner stove. Dual wheels on back and Mercedes engine. Diesel fuel and DEF. Hope you feel better

Liquid works better, it is absorbed by the body quick. Wild oil of oregano is natures strongest antibiotic, i believe it is stronger than penicillin and has no side effects !When i felt something coming on, i took 5 drops, every 2 hours under the tongue for a few minutes and then swallowed with lots of water! By the end of the day it was all gone! There is also colloidal silver, but that's for you to find out. Everybody is different, but the oil of oregano (definitely not the spice) worked with everybody i suggested it to. One more thing, the wild oil of oregano has to have 80% of carvacrol, don't go for the watered down stuff. Thank you. ❤

Was getting up on that ridge where you looked down at your van even an option? Damn that was an epic view! Lots of people around me here in New England are sick, too. I'm just crossing my fingers and washing my hands a lot these days. New England has been beautiful, btw, but many locals have mentioned how the uncharacteristically wet summer delayed and muted the normally more vibrant color. It's still pretty to me, with all the New England charm as icing. Interesting you're thinking of going larger. I've spent quite a lot of effort organizing things in my Class B so as to be able to leave pretty fast. I don't think it's ever going to be jump in the driver's seat and go. Starlink sure slows that down for me, too, but I don't have two large-breed dogs, so I can see where you're coming from. Maybe you can find something with a couch. With cold capsules, you don't have to hold your nose. Just sayin'. ;)

Honey lemon cough drops grab a few bags, old timers long ago says that's the best or honey lemon and a shot of whiskey. More space id go with a Promaster 3500 EXT it's bigger and better mpg than box truck or camper and you get lots places to travel and park. Buses tires cost the same as a semi my old truck $750 for 1 steer tire back tires min $3200 for 4 tires, fuel same as a truck, engine same as big truck rebuilt engine $20,000 starting out new engine $40,000 starting out. Rv is nice but id be scared you couldn't go where you have been it lmits options my opinion

@@girland2vandogs from researching for the past 2 years I've come to Van Life or Park Model life depending on what disability court said Sept 12th still waiting on that. If I can do Van Life it will be Promaster 3500 EXT, if I can't do Van Life then it will have to be Park Model if so I pick Close to Myrtle Beach SC where I use to live. In SC East Coast you can buy land an most places to live in a Camper, 5th wheel, I'm sure a Van lol. I agree yeah allot to think about for sure.
