I remember sending in a “recipe” I made up in the hopes that it would make it on the show… Basically “mix peanut butter and chocolate chips together, put it in the freezer, and then eat it.” It was the most creative thing I could come up with. They never got around to putting in into the show, unfortunately.

As a young child, I used to count time in “Zoom episodes.” On long car trips, my parents would say “We are three episodes of Zoom away.” This is a real thing from my life.

Original Zoom watcher here. And yes, it was the one thing I was crazy for on TV. The reboot happened when my husband worked for PBS. Happy to hear that it made a positive impression on you. ❤️

Everytime I see anything made with latex, my mind immediately says "Zoey from Zoom can't touch that because she's allergic". That one episode where she could only watch/referee a game involving latex balloons really got a grip on my brain and hasn't let go. It's a core memory, idk.

I remember a girl got featured on Zoom for making comics about a girl and her flamingo. That inspired me to draw comics when I was little. I went to an art college and a bunch of my friends knew exactly the same episode. Maybe it inspired them, too. Now I work in animation and totally credit Zoom for getting me started.

A children's museum near us had a "Zoom Discovery Center" exhibit growing up, and I'm not exaggerating when I say that my siblings and I BEGGED our parents to take us for weeks. When we finally did go, it was like we were going to Disney with how excited we all felt. It ended up just being a bunch of hands on science activities and crafts from the show, but as a kid it was amazing! Big "core memory" moment right there

As a PBS kid I loved this show! Fetch with Ruff Ruffman was another one of my favorites. I just loved shows with kids being creative and playing games, doing crafts, and solving challenges. We need more shows for kids like that again!

Thanks For bringing this back! There was a zoom episode where they made these candy mice, using candy cherries, a hershey's kiss, almonds and frosting. My mom watched it with me and we made them for Christmas. It became a tradition we did every year. Well when i became an adult i continued making them out of tradition. My mom passed away in January of this year, and Im going to continue this tradition. You really sent me down memory lane. Thank you.

One thing I'll never ever forget about the show was that Zoe was allergic to latex. She always had to remind us that she couldn't participate in anything that had to do with balloons lol

My friend Taylor (whom I met as an adult) was a cast member on the show and it's really interesting to hear her talk about her time there. She remembers loving her co-stars and producers, but also being sad when she was recast after a couple of seasons.

i grew up with PBS kids too, and honestly Arthur and Word Girl were my two favs I remember Word Girl had a resurgence recently, and ppl agreed the show was more entertaining than educational, they managed to integrate education rly well

The more I watch Scott Cramer the more I realize that we had basically the same childhood. Zoom was my freaking JAM growing up! I remember asking my mom to help us make legit everything we saw on that show haha so good!

Fun fact: my dad loved watching Zoom with me, and we would sometimes speak ubbi dubbi talk with each other. The funniest times were when we were on vacation or something, and be talking complete gibberish with each other to annoy my mom, and she wouldn't believe we could understand each other (which most of the time we weren't even actually saying anything) and on the spot we would come up with a story about what we were talking about. Good times man. Good times.

As someone whose dream job all through elementary school was to become a "Zoomer", it makes me so happy to see this show get the limelight it deserves. Caroline was my first crush as a kid, and I was so excited to see her on nearly every season. It was far and away my favorite TV show growing up and I still have fond memories looking back at it today.

Zoom was literally every 90s kids childhood! I loved how the kids did everything themselves, was always so inspiring but the theme song always got me hooked every time! Who else also loved Magic School Bus? I watched a new ep of Solar Opposites yesterday and they reference the Magic School Bus and I was so excited and happy!

I grew up mostly without cable, and Zoom was EVERYTHING.

This was a pretty cool video, I love seeing people talk about nostalgic topics. Zoom was a little bit before my time though, but I grew up with Fetch with Ruff Ruffman and Electric Company so I think I turned out alright.

I loved Zoom as a kid and I remember on their official website you could put in your name and print out a little certificate saying you were a Zoomer like the kids in the show, I for sure confused my brothers when I told them "Well, I'm a Zoomer now"! I remember the science game where they had long strings and poured water at the top and raced the water to the bottom...

I was extremely terrified of motherboard from cyberchase and the teletubbi sun baby. You just unlocked those repressed memories- thanks Scott. I always loved Zoom growing up and wanted to be Caroline because we have the same name. Big up Zoom 🤘🏼

I was totally all about pbs but I never heard about zoom. I was all about cyber chase, ruff ruffman, and between the lions. I recently showed between the lions to my younger sister and she absolutely loved it. Almost as much as when I showed my younger siblings rolie polie olie. Old kids shows were the best.

The Zoom Playhouse segments had an absolute chokehold on me and my sisters. We used to constantly go on the Zoom website, find a script we liked, print it out, and force our parents to watch us perform it. And I very distinctly remember busting out some of the science experiments they did for class projects too

This show was always my favorite growing up and I genuinely wouldn't be who I am without it. When Kyle went backstage at Wicked for a segment, I became infatuated with Wicked and my mom got me the album as a present later that year. The album came with a booklet of all the lyrics. And I kid you not, that little booklet helped me learn to read. I was using words like "elixir" at the age of 4 because of that album and I wouldn't have even gotten it if it weren't for zoom

My favorite zoom segment was when they played the game "punchy time" and all the kids fought each other until they blacked out

This show was literally life after school. This and Arthur. I always loved when they’d say “like so” when they’d explain something.

I was an art education major for a bit, and we had a couple of teaching experiences that we had to make the example for, and one was the silhouette project. We learned that the people tracing should be in pairs because the model would naturally sway and it would take a lot longer to wait for them to get back in position as you went.

This is embarrassing. But as a young adult during those years, I only ever had local television. I was going to college at the time, so I couldn't afford satellite or cable, nor did I really need it. The internet was enough to keep me entertained. Still, I always loved PBS for its documentaries, so I'd usually just use the television as background noise while I was studying. As a result, I absorbed A LOT of PBS Kids shows. I think Wordgirl was my favorite, but Arthur was a close second. Zoom was probably third.

Scott this feels like an evolution of the scott-i-verse. I love the chaotic sketch show style of this video. It feels like you're in your element here and that really makes me smile! You're amazing. keep it up, proud of you.

This video should have been an hour long. As a PBS kid I loved zoom and really enjoyed you embodying your childhood. It helped me remember and feel nostalgia. I wouldn't be opposed to a part 2. I also loved Dragonfly TV and hope you might have too.

Zoom was one of the very few live action non-puppet-based shows I could enjoy watching as a kid, and so few people talk about it that there were times I'd fear it didn't actually exist.

I know I watched this show a lot as a kid, but I could never remember much of anything from the show other than the theme - but when you showed the clip with the ping pong ball and hairdryer the vivid memory of my sister and I doing that as a kid after seeing them do it on Zoom came back to me lol

I remember doing a water drop experiment from zoom, you'd put a penny on top of a cup upside-down, and see how many drops of water you could put on the coin until it spilled over. It was surprisingly a lot more than you'd think because of surface tension.

"Hey you guuuuuuys!" One of my favorite shows from PBS was the Electric Company, I always thought it was the original show since I was a kid. I didn't realize until later that it was based on the show from the 1970's with the same name. And let me tell ya, the theme song was and still is a banger

This is such a wholesome video. As someone who grew up being an ESL student who also didn’t have cable PBS and Zoom made an impact on my life too. I remember watching episodes being so interested even when I didn’t fully understand what was being said. I can say it backed up my interest in learning and helped nurture my curiosity all while helping me learn English.

I used Zoom for multiple science fair experiments in elementary school. I also remember an episode where they made calzones, and I begged my mom to make them. Easily one of my favorite foods because of this show.

One on my most distinct childhood memory was trying out the zoom segment where they created a contraption to turn the bedroom light on and off while still in bed with string, straws, and tape. I still have a way to do that today, but now that contraption is called Alexa. I kinda prefer the zoom way

And let's not forget the outro song when they sung their address to a catchy tune. I might not always remember my own zip code, but I'll always remember the zip code to Boston, Mass: 02134. Also, Kenny was absolutely the coolest. He inspired me to learn juggling. Makes you wonder whatever happend to all these kids we grew up with and if they realize how big a part they played on our childhoods.

The segment that sticks in my head the most, besides the Arthur/Zoom crossover, is the science experiment where they test what surfaces water can run down, I guess? They compared something smooth to something fibrous like rope and found that it runs down your arm really well because it’s a combination of both. I didn’t realize how much this show still affects my life until now. Tonight I went out for a burger and grabbed an ice cube from my cup and rubbed it in my hands to melt it and clean the sauce off. It’s from a game on the show where the kids race to melt an ice cube! Some of my favorite bits in other pbs shows were my favorite because they reminded me of zoom, like cyberchase for real, and the Arthur segments. Harry and Bianca were so cool to me, and I remember watching Arthur bits like the creator teaching you to draw characters, a segment where blind kids make cookies at school, and I still remember the difference between the less-than and greater-than symbols because of an Arthur clip where a kid’s nickname in class was Less-than-ewis because his name was Lewis, and the less-than sign faces the same direction as an L. And holy crap, I just remembered Spork and Foon! I’m gonna be up all night looking at pbs clips. What have you done to me, Scott…

This show was one of the most impactful things in my life. The fact that Kaleigh played the saxophone made me fall in love with it, and that wound up being the instrument I chose going into middle school band a couple years later. Now, fast forward 20+ years, I am a middle school band teacher and it all started with Zoom. Thanks for this video, Scott.

You need to know that Zoom was my FAVORITE show. I had the biggest crush on Garrett. When Facebook became a thing, I found Garrett and messaged him. This was like 2007 or 2008. This show was also a huge part of my childhood since I too grew up without cable. One segment that would occasionally come up was “Zoom Chat” and I forget if it’s the same as the “Fan mail” segment. Anyway, I recall that sometimes they would tackle topics that were a bit more serious, such as parents going through divorces, racism and other similar topics. This show really had a lot to offer for kids

Zoom was an amazing show. I do think we zoomers think differently. I appreciate how they just let the kids figure it out. We often underestimate our kids' abilities. This is a good reminder that I need to have my kids watch this show.

Like Scott, I too had no cable until my teens, and these shows were a staple of my childhood. Yes!! I loved this show so much!! No one around me remembers it. I was a homeschooled Christian kid with no cable TV, so we watched the heck out of PBS.

I always loved how Zoom started in the 70's, so my mom remembers watching it, and then I also have memories watching it myself. I will never not have the urge to sing the theme song whenever the word "zoom" is mentioned, like some kind of Pavlovian response.

I watched the ones they played in the 2000s, like Arthur, Cyberchase, Word girl, Martha speaks, Clifford & Puppy Days (original version), Wild Kratts, Super why, Dinosaur train, Word world (if that was on pbs...not entirely sure), Sesame street, Curious George, I barely watched Fetch, but I remember it, Rollie pollie Ollie, Angelina Ballerina, Thomas the Tank Engine, And then some others like: The Magic School Bus, The big comfy couch (I watched it afterwards, but it apparently played on pbs..same thing with Sagwa and Maya and Miguel..the theme song is engraved in my memory-), JJ the Jetplane, Noddy, Dragon tales, Shining Time Station, Barney, The Electric Company (I just know the logo), Teletubbies, Pocoyo, Kidsongs (w/ the biggles), Theodore Tugboat...there's probably more I also watched some of the newer shows

Omg...instant nostalgia. I watched zoom daily. I had a picture of Kenny in my Lisa Frank purse, and i said he was my boyfriend who lived in my old state when I moved. 😅

In Australia we had/have 'Backyard science' which was a very similar sort of thing, and it still remains integral to my understanding of life itself.

My brothers and I also grew up without cable and absolutely loved PBS and Zoom. I remember they had this chip recipe on zoom where they took Tostitos chips with pizza sauce and shredded mozzarella cheese (it’s different than nachos I swear) and then microwaved it and we were absolute amazed by it. Today we still make it and only refer to it as “the recipe”.

I was a PBS kid that LOVED Zoom. When I was like 6 or 7, some of the Zoom kids hosted an event at the children's museum and me + my sister got to go and make crafts with them!! It was awesome, one of the highlights of my childhood

I wrote in to them when I was a kid with some suggestion, I don't remember exactly what it was but I do remember my drawing included someone upside down 😅 they wrote back and thanked me but said the activity would be too dangerous to do on the show lol

When you mentioned cliff hanger, it brought back a memory I didn't know I had. I haven't heard that name since I was a kid and just watched a clip of him. I was not disappointed

Seeing this is bringing back forgotten memories. Ubbi dubbi, the tornado in bottles, the dumb peanut butter celery with raisins, and my favorite: the one at 13:51 where you put a bunch of stuff in a bowl (all I can remember is pepper) and when you put your finger in, everything is pushed to the sides. I watched this at daycare all the time and sometimes after finishing the episode we would go do some of the experiments. I definitely feel like Zoom had a huge impact on me without fully remembering why until now

My family didn't have cable when I was a kid. I loved going to my grandparents' homes and watching the Nickelodeon shows like Legends of the Hidden Temple and Wild and Crazy Kids. But PBS was definitely a big staple when I was at home.
