I put water purification tablets in our tank every time we fill it, then if the water is from a questionable source, we pull out the Berkey and filter the water we drink or cook with. Being a handicapped senior, I hate going to stores, and can find just about anything I need online. I worked at a Lowe's in a couple of my post retirement years, and they, like Home Depot and most other stores keep cutting back on what they stock in the store. They only keep the most in demand items now, and everything else, they are pushing to the Internet. Squirrels destroyed some of our plastic siding on our house, and I never found the right color, so finally ordered some in gray and spray painted it the right color.

Mario's & Luigi's last names are actually Mario, as it was first mentioned in the 1993 live action Super Mario Bros. film.

You're right about first returning to town for water. I realised that most of my water use was from washing dishes. Eliminated that by eating off paper - and tossing the waste. Eating cold food, nuts, fruits, etc is minimising cooking too. You seem like you are prepping for the Zombie apocalypse- but I like your style!!

Very true! Little adjustments make a big difference. Another good way to save water is to wash your dishes with a spray bottle filled with water instead of running the tap. Conserves a lot of water!

Hey Y'all. Good work as always. I'm sure you considered all options and made correct decisions, also I have built only one shuttle bus and have nowhere near your experience. I get that the Mog is a Truck and not a bus on a van chassis. All that said, I'm still a bit surprised , Foreman Mateo and his assistant allowed you to put 800 pounds of water on the very back of the rig. Not at all meaning to be rude or mean, just saying.

A valid concern! But this truck is more than capable of handling the weight so it’s worth it for us to have more capacity to stay out longer. It’s nowhere near a bus or van chassis… much stronger! We have a 16,500lb GVWR. Because of the departure angle the tank is actually a bit farther in on the axel than you’d think. This truck can take us to really remote places. We don’t want to have to turn around because we run out of water! Thanks for watching Mark! ☺️

Wondering if that extra 0.1 micron is really worth all that $$$? I have the FrizzLife 0.5 micron for under $100. Plumbed to the kitchen sink cold side. Also use one of the cheap RV 20 micron filters to filter everything going into the freshwater tank.

I'm also building on a 24V platform and using a 24V 600W heater in the hot water tank. You seem to use the 120V thermostat that came with the hot water tank. I was going to use a relay because I thought the 120V thermostat would have a hard time with the high amperage of the 24V. What are your thoughts on that ?

We removed the AC thermostat and installed a DC one on the tank. It’s linked in the description.

Question good video but how come u didn't go with a hot water on demand?

We often have a surplus of energy from our power system and like to use it to heat up the water! We can "store" energy through hot water in the water heater tank. Helpful way to use energy that would otherwise be wasted and a great way to always have hot water - A luxury in a camper when not prepping for a shower haha. Also water on demand heaters tend to waste more water as it takes time to pull cold water through the line every time you turn it off and on during a shower.

Where did you get lockable water inlet with exterior cover? Your list shows lockable water inlet but no exterior cover/door.

The one listed on Amazon is not the one we used - those are from past builds. Forgot to add the link to ours in the description! It's a Tern Overland water inlet: ternoverland.com/arctic-tern-components-Bulk-Water-Filler/. This one comes the lock and cover! We also have a discount code for Tern products that will give you 10% off: 'OURWAY10'
