My Dad worked with Sam Mills doing construction before I was born way back in the 1980’s. Sam wasn’t being paid enough by the USFL to fully support himself so he had to work a second job during the off-season. Then he finally got a shot with the Saints and went on to make 5 pro bowls and be named first team all-pro in 1996 at age 37. The Saints also snagged Michael Lewis off of a truck driving job to become an all-pro. Insane. Both guys were right under the Eagles noses. Lewis was signed by the Eagles but didn’t make the team and Mills played for the Philadelphia Stars in the USFL. Stupid Eagles.

In the 1970 merger, two teams were exempted from having to worry about moving-the Giants and 49ers. Reason? Geographic AFL neighbors in the Jets and Raiders, respectively.

I'm VERY surprised you didn't mention 1992, because not only was that the year Favre started for the Packers, but 20 out of 28 NFL teams that season couldn't finish a full season with their starting QB. 7 of those 8 made the playoffs, the only QB to miss and play a full season? Jim Everett. That number wouldn't be seen again until 2017, where 12 of 32 teams finished a full season with their starting QB, and it was nearly matched this season with 13 out of 32 teams. One of the worst years I have ever seen for QB's.
