I think one of the most irritating things about the Sunny video is the editing. The ominous music and weird 'boom' effects make all his videos seem far more serious, and the topics a lot more malicious than they actually are. This is the same in all his videos, and is understandable in a video about an abuser, but pairing that music with the topic of 'person came out as trans and people are mad' kinda' subconsciously makes it seem like the video is painting Chris as a bad person. Basic editing psychology and all that.

I think the most damning thing about this is that they keep calling it "MrBeast drama" or "controversy" when there is literally no controversy with either of these two people. One person came out as trans after having a long think about what they want out of life, the other said "Oh, cool!" and they both moved on. The controversy is just how many people are ready and willing to show their ass and shit on people for not being what they perceive as 'normal' to take a dig at... A guy who makes a living as what I can only describe as a free-range game show host.

I understand Pyro is approaching the video with a bit of a different lense on than most due to the amount of content he gets to make thanks to SunnyV2. But the way the video is titled, formatted, and shown with the heavy bias expressing that Chris isn't thinking about how it will affect Jimmy and the channel all together like Chris is a character in a film and not a human-being is fucked. The video could easily be portrayed on a neutral ground showing what's happened and the backlash but it's not framed in that light. SunnyV2 is aware of the picture he is painting, picking the most braindead unhinged comments, 90% of which have hardly any likes, so why choose those to highlight I wonder.

I've always wondered how SunnyV2 would respond to controversy since he's always saying like, "At this point, the best move would have been to stay quiet," or, "You need to be calm and collected and not have an emotional breakdown.

I'm going to try and construct this comment as I watch your video to try and articulate each point because I feel like it's worth going into this video with a bit of scrutiny. As a recently cracked transwoman, everything that is happening surrounding Chris right now is embarrassing. I can fully agree with the notion that SunnyV2 was simply trying to work in accordance with the algorithm, but such an approach is almost inherently flawed for getting out information in stories like this. In addition to mistakes being pushed through in favor of clicks, it does not allow Sunny any time to check any biases he or his sources may have, which could lead to him pushing transphobic ideas that he may not even be fully aware he has. I know I personally had to do a lot of work to break from what I learned growing up about gender identity and trans people, things that caused then and still cause now a host of issues that prevent me from finding comfort in my person on the day to day. If Sunny and as you mentioned other big KZfaqrs are in the race of "get it out right now" there's no room for nuance on the subject, it allows preconceived notions to seep through in an attempt to grab the bag, and can push ideas that are genuinely harmful to plenty of trans people. Talking about those mistakes and deconstructing them like this is good, of course, but the first impression given by Sunny's video has already been made, at this point its too little too late. The narrative of Chris's marriage coming to an end over their transition feels pretty disingenuous, as it seems to put the umbrage on Chris for coming out and "ruining the relationship" yet says nothing of their wife who seems to be separating from Chris *because* of their transition. It feels pretty presumptuous to me to make the claim that this is Chris's fault when the story isn't known to the public, and while it doesn't seem like Sunny outright states that, the video seems to run with the notion and never challenges it, which is a huge red flag, basically conflating trans people with a collapse of the family unit and with debauchery, both of which are common anti-trans dogwhistles. You can see just how common these dogwhistles ate in your own comments. Members of your chat are spouting anti-trans filth, and while you call them out and fight that, and that is admirable it's a symptom of the saturation of trans hate into so much of modern internet discourse that Sunny's own video is involuntarily playing into. If the information about Chris talking to other trans creators was so prevalent, why did Sunny not mention? Why not refute the points made against Chris instead if letting them ride? He seems to counter the claims made that Chris is abandoning their child and tearing apart a family by showing Chris talking openly about supporting and being their for his child, but then goes right back into those same comments without any other argument, dragging the whole discussion back to a perceived wrongdoing. If this is a result of just chasing clicks, its actively disparaging a trans person by recycling poisonous rhetoric, and that should be addressed. This all builds up to what seems to be Sunny's thesis: Chris's transition is going to cause a problem for Mr. Beast's career, a statement that is not just incredibly insulting by brushing aside the struggles of a trans person to instead talk about how much their friend is being hurt, but one that also, again, frames Chris in the negative. The negativity is coming from the transphobes that are in Mr. Beast's community, THEY are the problem, not Chris, and posing this issue from this perspective implies that the issue is because of Chris and not the bigots attacking Chris for perceived wrongdoing. That's a huge issue. You refute the "Mr. Beast looks uncomfortable around Chris" cope very well, why them could Sunny not do that himself? If his aim was to discuss how Chris's transition was affecting Mr. Beast's channel, wouldn't that be a valid point to bring up? Sunny so consistently tries to reach for the conclusion that Mr. Beast is uncomfortable around Chris and Chris's jokes, seemingly unaware of this facet of e-celebrity, that being the contrast of person and persona, that has been understood for well over a decade, and it feels more like he's trying to find where his conclusion is than use the available information to make a good conclusion in the first place. It's not challenging his viewpoints it's just reaffirming them. You mention Sunny's take about Chris losing old or adopting new personality traits, and how bad that is, so I'll refrain from going too in depth on that, but I will say it does seem to me to reinforce the idea that Sunny has biases regarding this topic that he didn't check or was unable to given the time frame, neither of which are good things. Between that and the disregard for Chris as a person and not an asset, it feels like Sunny's motivation for making this video in general was to milk a trending topic for views instead of giving a person he's covering the proper due diligence in regards to their treatment. It feels like a cynical cash grab. Sunny effectively treats Chris as a character and less a person, and that's disgusting to me, even if he was unintentional. Chris is not a shallow Disney puppet for brownie points, they're a trans person going through a transition, there's a WORLD of difference between the two. Again, he keeps positing the "effect on Mr. Beast's career" as if the problem is Chris transitioning, when the problem is bigots being unable to accept the identity of trans people and burrowing into communities like tickets. Sunny's entire point is predicated an the trans person being the problem, not the ones lobbing the hate at them. I don't believe Sunny is transphobic at all, but I believe he has unconscious biases that were left unchecked when he made this video that err on the side of transphobia entirely without his own consideration. These things are incredibly common as a result of how vilified trans people are by society, and while Sunny may not believe any of that, some bit of deep social programming slips into almost everyone without intention. I think going forward he needs to consider how he frames his videos and arguments so as not to other people like Chris, because this shit sucks to watch as a fellow trans person.

As someone who has wanted to transition for a long time, yeah, it just doesn't happen overnight. This is something that you deal with in your head for years and years, it's a constant thought, just looking in the mirror is a stark reminder.

Funny how you said someone can have a family and come out as gay when they're 40. That EXACT thing happened with my ex's dad. Had a wife and two daughters in their teens. Then one day my ex just says "so it turns out my dad is gay and my parents are getting a divorce...". She wasn't too upset by it but it definitely seems to blindside the family. The thing with Sunny's video is that the framing is extremely telling. Just think about it, the right can't outright say that being trans is "bad" because it doesn't resonate. For them it's best to paint Chris as a villain in this situation. Also notice how he paints this as a drama even though he exclusively talks about Chris and random comments. He cherry picks comments to make it seem like everyone is reacting negatively. The majority of comments don't even have any likes so it's obvious that he cherry picked them by purpose. They have to convey their message through subtle framing like this, otherwise people would realize what they're doing. The integrity of Sunny V2's has been shit for some time now and the attitude he approached the situation with goes a bit beyond just a rushed video

Sunnyv2 has always been a bit mid, he’s my subway “block out the homeless man screaming and or taking crack” KZfaqr who generally summarizes drama decently well. But this is far and away Sunny’s worst video. It’s not that the information is particularly wrong, it’s that it narrativizes the situation and looks at the situation extremely robotically and not even considering the humanity of everyone in the situation with a pretty bad conclusion. Through all of it, Sunny either ignored or refused to mention that the reason there is any issue here is because of transphobes, those knuckle crawlers. This isn’t some “everyone is valid and it’s just a matter of perception”, it’s that a trans person and/or a gender nonconforming person just existed.
