We are living in a time of great collective grief and loss with less and less community to support and help deal with it. This workshop delves into the many flavors of grief by exploring our parts reactions, protections, feelings and beliefs about grief, as well as cultural and family patterns. The differentiation of grief and depression will be explored as well as the 5 gates of grief from Francis Weller’s book, “The Wild Edge of Sorrow”. Self and parts as an inner community resource to help address and heal our multiplicity of grief will be utilized. Lectures, meditation, journaling, and experiential exercises will be use to facilitate the participants’ learning and experience. Presented by Ann Sinko, LMFT at the IFS-I Annual Conference in 2021. Thank you Ann. These two books have also influenced me, as I connected with them during the pandemic. Thank you for bringing this to IFS

Wow. Such a gift. This ever evolving work of IFS, of contribution, partnership, community, sharing, and healing. I have not been to an IFS even in person since the conference that was in Providence, RI in….2019? I got to experience Anne Sinko there as a participant and leader, and her voice, experience and presence is so authentic and wise. This work has deeply touched my life and how I work with my clients. Grateful.

That was fantastic thanks Ann. I just watched your talk on psychotherapy and shamanism with Bob Falconer et al and followed your link over to this. Both were brilliant. I think I would have classed myself as being "good with grief" but recently have been feeling that it's actually too much. I think my parts have soaked up a bit too much grief from clients who have been dealing with heavy losses and in the isolated situation with the pandemic and also the huge griefs of the pandemic my usual powers of holding have been stretched. You've given me lots of food for thought anyway. I'm off to ask the parts that are finding it too much what they need. I'm already hearing from some that they want to float in the ocean and soak up the sunshine. :-)

Mary Hunter or IFS Institute, can you please share the link for the "Psychotherapy and shamanism" with "Ann Sinko" and "Bob Falconer?" I've been looking after your comment, and trying various ways, haven't been able to find it. Thanks!

i don't even know how i am about to say what i am about to say.. it does not appear that my parts direct communicate with me.. after being in ACA for 8 years and learning about IFS it appears that my parts are talking to me through my GI system and my central nervous system.. my parts have my attention but yet they still are not directly communicating.. do you have any experience with this and if so what can i do?

True or False? - By definition, a singular part can not cope, because coping, by definition, is a (healthier) blend of parts. Is depression a blend of parts?
