Jim Clark is always forgotten but he was a legend most grand slams of any driver. He would race in america at the weekend fly back to Scotland then somewhere in Europe then repeat the whole thing. Bear in mind this is when air travel was as slow as a week in the jail, he lived for racing and eventually died for it unfortunately

The term "Funny Car" comes from the AF/X days when factory Super Stockers had the rear axles moved forward along with the wheel arches. The strange wheelbase proportions made them look...funny. Nolan, you should do a Wheelhouse about the evolution of the funny car class from the AF/X days to now. You could include engines, how the flipper bodies came to be, and safety of the class.

Thats a good idea and to continue on that an evolution of drag racing series would be awesome from the days of run what u brung and hope you brought enough to the top fuel class of today making in excess of 10000 twerks and qm times in the low 3s who out there can really put into perspective just how insanely fast that truly is.. talk about some awesome content for a channel promoting more powa babeh and more amazing cool horsepower and hotrod related catch phrases

Funny car term comes from when the guys running A/FX (A/Factory Experimental) a gas class would swap over to Nitro methanol and run in the A/FC class (A/Fuel Coupe) the A/FX cars soon began to dominate the class traditionally occupied by early 30s Ford coupes. The A/FX cars strange appearance resulting from their heavily Altered wheel bases had people calling them Funny Cars and the Fuel Coupe class name evolved to Funny Car.

The whole pinks thing sounds like a good idea. You guys all do a 1000$ car challenge that at the end one person could have a bunch of cars. Allegedly when Mickey was out doing the desert series (especially in Barstow) he would hop out about 10+ miles from the start and switch drivers. Then again he’d hop back in just before the finish. Not sure how true it is, but a story my family swears by

1:03:51 to those curious: they are called funny cars because they were the start of altered wheelbase cars. This made them “funny looking cars” shortened to funny cars. The goal was to move more weight over the rear wheels by moving the motor and driver back, centering the driver and moving the wheels forward. This then evolved to the tube chassis and fibreglass bodies.

By the sounds of it, any time Mickey tried to go around corners he'd unintentionally kill people. Drag racing and speed records are definitely were he should have stayed. But a great man and a great story can't wait for next week.

You may want to read the book by Randall Sullivan call Labiryth written back in 2002. Its base on the murder on the the rapper The Notorious B.I.G. It is believed that the people who killed Christopher Wallace were L.A.P.D Rampart officers ( C.R.A.S.H Unit) same unit that Rafael Perez was from. Mike Goodwin knew of this officer's as Det Russell Poole was investigating further and notice the log book visitation of the Montobello Corrections Facility. Mike Goodwin pay a visit to one of this former officers and told to him if he needed anything to let him know. Also check the trailer for the Johnny Deep movie City of Lies.
