I want to quickly clear up the ending for those who might've misunderstood. "Sooner or later, Jake, you'll have to decide for yourself." - what Hailey is referring to here is Jake staying in or leaving the club. NOT choosing friends/a side. In context it's only about Jake thinking of quitting after the completion due to pressure, which she is upset by. Hailey isn't telling him to choose between her and Drew. She's telling him that neither of them should dictate his decision to stay/leave. That's all! 20:06 - Notice how Lia goes silent? I think it's because what Hailey said stuck with her. It wouldn't be surprising considering how she acts in ep.10 part 1. It looks like she actually took into consideration what Hailey said and realised she was right. And that's what I like about Lia. She's sorta like Jake with the whole "Mean to impress someone". Because we know Jake was only mean to the club so Drew & his friends wouldn't judge him. Like he said, they're "all he had". It's that or I'm a complete idiot 😅

Seriously, like all the old gacha life mini movies are so outplayed and over the top. Rosy did something original and it’s presented very well with a good script. So many gacha creators quit KZfaq because they stick to cliches, lack motivation or lack the people to make something as high quality as this.

14:12 THEORY TIME!~ Lia used to be Hailey's friend, but she went to be friends with Zoey to try and "fit in". Other clues of this is how they interacted in class, and in episode 3, when Zoey and her group were bullying Milly, she never looked happy, nor saying anything honestly. She just followed. She also wanted to see Jake preform on stage, and was pretty excited about it. She never wanted to bully them, but she wanted to fit in and stay friends with Zoey.

@@eponaaa3862 I'm sorry about that. I also felt that way then. But it's worse that I feel that way more often, and it's very hard for me to admit this, but I think it's my mother's fault. She knows about it and was on my side for a while, but suddenly she started blaming me for being afraid to talk to others. And my theory is that it's all because of one doctor (it's a female doctor), but that's a long story 😅.

@@takameimae4719 oh my god the same happened to me. my mom was the one who first told me i had social anxiety after i finally mustered up the strength to tell her a bit about how i struggle to talk to people and then she abruptly got mad at me for not making any friends and told me i thought i was better than everyone else and that i was arrogant. social anxiety sucks, i hope we can both get over it.

I always want to be alone, sometimes I'm afraid to even talk to family members. I think it would be much easier if I had a person to whom I could tell why I am the way I am, but now I am in a situation where I must not tell my own mother, because I am afraid that she will blame me again.

Currently rewatching the whole series rn and I wanna point out a small little detail I found. At 14:16, I just realized that Hailey was trying to read a book about "Stage Presence". I think she was trying so desperately to gather her confidence again but knowing that even up till that timeline, her stage fright is still there and she never managed to fix it. Another thing I wanna point out in 14:37. From what we know in the previous episodes and this current episode, Hailey is a perfectionist. But sadly, the one thing she can't do perfectly is her singing infront of a crowd. Given under these circumstances with the whole bullying thing, it feels impossible to do so. She probably pressures and blames herself for not being able to sing even though her surrounding is what makes her be this way. Her surrounding is very toxic which makes her confidence falter even further and is the main factor that led to develop her stage fright. Hailey following the expectations of others probably causes her to think that she's not worthy enough to stand under the spotlight. brb gon cri in a corner rq- all she wants to do is sing man! QAQ

@@ta1g064 I disagree! Stage fright is more of the fear of performing in front of people, or getting up and doing something in front for a large crowd. Scopophobia, on the other hand, is the fear of being stared at / overly looked at.

Stage fright is fear of performing in front of a large crowd, you already know what fear of public speaking is, scopophobia is the fear of being looked at/stared at, you can see that there's a difference.

thank you for actually portraying how bullying works instead of just letting them get beat up . I just feel that it’s important because people don’t show how it ACTUALLY affects a person.

If you look at the part where Hailey is singing about her past, You can see Lia is next to her walking away from Zoey and another girl which might mean they used to be friends. Also during Class, Hailey mentions to Lia how she became a jerk to impress other which could mean that Lia ditched Hailey to Impress Zoey instead. Hailey also said that ‘Zoey is not here for you to impress’ so it could mean that?

Something that I love about the animation in this series is the character habits. I’ve noticed that Jake will almost always put his hand on his neck or the lower part of his head when he’s nervous or pending on something. It’s a great form of recurring details and character personality! Zander doesn’t smile all that often unless he’s charmed by Luke or something that he likes, it’s a great way to express his mostly annoyed demeanor! I absolutely love the animation and the little details of everyone! I hope Rosy and her team keep up the amazing work! 💙💙💙

I noticed this as well! It's really cool to see varied mannerisms in expression, body language, and speech. Hailey appears closed off most of the time as well, it's way easier to spot now that the eye shapes can be moved and edited. I get the impression she's very tense most of the time. I guess maybe it's because I studied body language to understand social cues better as an autistic person, but I pick up on a lot of that stuff and it's so nice.

Most of them weren't even obvious. - Jake's passion for singing (shown throughout the series) - Hailey's stage fright (shown in this episode, Ep. 8 Scared of the Spotlight) - Zander's parent issues (shown in RosyClozy's "Sad" meme) - Sean's parent issues (shown in both Ep. 6 Misfortunate Day Out & Ep. 7 Out in the Open) - Millie's harassment (shown in Ep. 3 The Pink-Haired Devil) - Daisy's stressful priorities (shown in Ep. 7 Out in the Open) - and *maybe* Lia's secret about transforming into a "jerk" (shown in this episode, Ep. 8 Scared of the Spotlight) Can't wait to see more unexpected backstories!

aight I got a little theory. In 14:11 we can see Hailey and Lia being picked on by Zoey and some other girls. They were obviously friends back then, but now they're clearly not. I think that Lia turned on Hailey and left her for the "popular" squad to stop and actually be liked for once while Hailey didn't want to become someone like that and continued to put up with it. Their conversation in class definitely suggested it. 20:00 - "At least I didn't turn myself into a jerk to please others." 18:11 - "Don't act like you know me!" (they used to be friends. they might've known each other well back then, but Lia changed a lot. this is why she says this.) and "You can drop the mean girl act y'know, Zoey isn't here for you to impress."

What's even more interesting was the fact that Daisy and Sean were texting each other at 22:14 That's such a cool way to show that Daisy and Sean still talk and text from the background after their first interactions. This episode was quite emotional from Zander’s love for puppies to Hailey’s stage fright. Also the smaller details like Zander and mom getting competitive on the piano/keyboard are very nice and enjoyable. You’re doing great 👍😊

I was complaining to myself on Hailey being so underdeveloped as a character, so it's great to see her finally be defined more. I'd honestly love for Luke to get another episode for himself (he's a bit underdeveloped too, because his episode was a ship episode). But this series is great and it only really has minor story-based problems. I love it.

This makes me so upset because Jake doesn’t think he’s valued in the club and that they only like/want him now because of his singing. Not because Jake is genuinely likeable and a good person. Hailey feels hurt by the fact jake doesn’t think that their actually friends because she genuinely likes jake and wants them to be friends. Hailey wants jake to realize their not just using him for the competition and jake wants to know where he stands in the club.
