Sonic heroes, the Sonic adventure games, gta vice city, msg3, and silent hill were the first 6 ps2 games I played as a child and I have loved them all dearly ever since. I am glad to see the music in the Sonic be talked about with such depth and detail as they all influenced my tastes growing up along with the other ps2 games I played. It really brought me back to those days. I really like these deep dives and I don’t know if you are open to suggestions, but I would love to see a video on Hotline Miami and it’s sequel. Whether it’s covering the game as a whole or just the music in it. I have no doubt you would kill it. Keep it up these videos are dope.

I just love how this video turned out! Sonic has tripped at times, but even for the worst of the Blue Blur's outings, they will keep a killer soundtrack; excluding the Sonic Boom games. They suuuuuck! Also, here's my suggestion for a video inspired by this: the voice of Devil May Cry. It would be a pretty cool follow-up!

I think some of the Sonic movie soundtrack took philosophies from the first two games. Also I do somewhat like Hyper Potions (who have had small involvement in the series)

As much as dont like Shadow the Hedgehog (2005), its soundtrack is one of the best videogame osts imo, it also helped me to discover Magna- Fi/The Szuters(Versechoruskillme is overrated). I used to listen to the soundtrack while trying to block my memory of this shitty game, so after awhile the OST and game were separated in my mind.

I completely disagree! This was a very well done and entertaining video. HOWEVER, i completely disagree with your opinion that sonic 06 had MID music. And i will die to defend that games music as it is one of the greatest video game ost’s of all time. Yes, the ost isnt AT ALL similar to the games that came before it. I personally love the new style. The main composer, tomoya ohtani went for an orchestral rock genre with sonic 06. Sonic 06 was meant to be a reboot for the franchise after shadow 05. So the mysic went in the orchestral rock genre to represent that change. And imo tomoya ohtani and his team knocked it out of the park. While the cutscene music may be a bit bland, the level themes are phenomenal. Every stage is separated into two parts. White acropolis act 1 is such a VIBE. And act 2 has a KICKASS build up before the song starts and it just feels so fluid! Kingdom valleys final part at the end makes you feel like your floating up to god. In Flame cores first part the song switches up to this heavenly melody at 1:40 that makes me sh*t my pants. And when i heard flame core - the cavern when i was a kid i legit thought the song couldnt be real because of how melodic and calm it was. That song is FIRE 🔥 Mephiles’s theme is creepy af And i forgot to mention that sonic 06 uses leightmotifs in the ost like crazy and its amazing. Radical train FEELS like your chasing a train. Like literally. The first level of Aquatic base is a soothing track that almost feels inhuman. And aquatic base level 2 HAS THE SICKEST BEAT DROP IVE EVER HEARD IN MY LIFE AT 0:55! And crisis city is one of the single greatest sonic songs of all time. Every part of crisis city is just an amazing roalercoaster of BUILD UP. Untill the song outright stops midway, THEN REBOUNDS IN AN INSANE BRASSY LEAD. And ‘end of the world’ is an extremely underrated song imo. But dont sleep on sonic 06 ost guys its the second best sonic ost of all time. Not as good as unleashed though. Pretty cool video though

I mean... as much as calling Sonic "The Fonz of the 90s" is fun and all to do (when not calling him Poochy the Dog)--I think there is no other franchise that mirrors Millennials experiences in the world and life better than Sonic My introduction was the Game Gear games. My system came with Sonic the Hedgehog 2 (8bit version)... and I want to say Sonic Chaos (there was a second game with my system, cannot remember which it was). So uh... I am a pariah in amongst Sonic fans. Which either is a negation of a negative for cringe.... or something similar to doing the square root of a negative number--but applied to cringe... probably both. So like the maths symbol for +/-... but it is +/i... and yes, I do relish in committing maths crimes as well =P

I dunno man, this isn't a very well made video. Misspelled Buxer as "Bruxer", mentioned CD's US soundtrack as if it was an influence on Adventure (highly unlikely) and didn't even mention that it was a regional-exclusive made soundtrack and said nothing about the Japanese one which did have some influence on other Game Gear Sonic games which you also didn't mention. Went in circles about Sonic 2 quite a bit (unnecessary, S1 and S2 music is similar enough to serve as a reason for the bit to be shorter). Michael Jackson also definitely didn't compose for S3, though Buxer who later worked with Jackson did - while this can be argued to be semantics, there is an interesting detail in that Buxer's Sonic 3 credits theme later became basis for Stranger in Moscow. Didn't mention 3D Blast (Genesis) either, another case of a game with two soundtracks with the Genesis one having Jun Senoue work on a lot of the compositions that he would later rearrange for Adventure 1, with this also influencing the rest of Adventure 1's soundtrack, said nothing about the portable Dimps games which had their own composers and standouts, nothing about Rush which had Hideki Naganuma of all people compose it, etc. No mention of Tomoya Ohtani's work either (a lot of games from 06 and onwards had him involved) nor that Senoue did return quite a few times despite the "Crush 40 era" being over, instead you mention Mania which really didn't have much influence on later releases nor in general and stayed a one-off more than anything, where-as Forces which you simply single out as "a bunch of generic orchestral tracks" did actually have composers return (Naofumi Hataya of Sonic CD JP fame) and also arguably influenced Frontiers' music, the jarring title screen and UI music of Forces aside. Overall nice presentation and ~alright points, but really not particularly well done research-wise. Sites like SEGARetro can be helpful for researching those things so you can check those. Also, Sonic R is a divisive game but it's visuals are definitely some of the best the Saturn can do (far tougher to work with it than with the PS1 to my knowledge), and singling out Lost World for post-06 but pre-Mania games is just... odd? It isn't really representative of how games were nor of what it tried to imitate, so it's just there.

spent a good dinner watching this cuz this channel makes some good vids on other music and i like sonic so i thought it could be a good vid but then the whole thing is 40 min videos mocking a whole franchise with irony poisoning jokes from 2016 just cuz the 3d games didnt have "genesis" feeling whatever that means, couldn't even talk about shadow game approaching nu metal and the story behind it nah lets just make some le funny irony bad sonic joke like everyone else does sigh

You didn't talk about the handheld games barring Tails Adventure. Triple Trouble and Advance 3 have some of the best music in the franchise. God I cannot begin to explain how much I hate Sonic 2, Adventure 2, Colours and Mania. They are games which everyone who doesn't appreciate good Sonic game flocks to despite all four having some of the worst level design and music in the series. They also have some good levels and excellent music, but that's all Sonic games. Funny how everyone is drawn to bottom of the barrel. Sonic 3 isn't great either, because the levels are too long and bland in terms of layout but it isn't to the point of being bad unlike Mania, it's just mediocre. Frontiers is fun but even Forces is more interesting than it, so the only "great" Sonic games I consider great are Adventure 1 and Generations.

I admire ChaosX for not listening to tbe haters and doing what nobody tried: Making Sonic 06 great.
