UPDATE: "Draw Better Portraits Through the Study of Anatomy" my new full portrait anatomy course is finally here! app.gumroad.com/products/DDkuL
Lines Grooves Furrows and Folds...
Making a study guide is a great way to learn important facial landmarks and anatomy.
This is an example of how I learned to study and create notes in undergraduate anatomy courses and on embalmed cadavers in pharmacy school.
Learning anatomy is important because having a name for a skin fold, bump or muscle insertion makes it live in your memory and you'll more likely look for it when drawing from life. Anatomy knowledge gives us artists another level of freedom and tool to cause an emotional response in the viewers of our art work of the human face or figure.

Bro thank you so much! I’ve been studying the Loomis breakdown for a while and found myself having a really hard time with execution of the eyes and overall step by step approach in general. Your video clarifies so many aspects for me I appreciate you!🔥

I've been doing face portraits for years and nearly always get a likeness in graphite, but the painting of them is not good. Now that you taught us about the planes and the hard and soft lines in the initial drawings, I hope to improve a bunch. God bless you and thank you for sharing your knowledge and your talent. BTW, I'll be 87 on my next birthday. People bought my work years ago for $50, 75 and 100.. People here at the nursing home want theirs done, but I only charge the officials.

Thanks for the video! Great as always, I really appreciate all of your stuff! I feel like I am learning a lot from your videos! Would it be possible for you to do a video on where to place the nasolabial fold rhytm and the midcheek furrow? Or how to see them on references? You often use them and I am a bit struggling with seeing them in real life or i don´t know where exactly to place them so they help me in the end in the drawings. I hope you get what I am trying to say.
