Nautilus Rocket Mass Heater, the ultra high efficiency, mass based, thermal storage, chambered cumbustion, for internal energy dissipation, causing time released eloctromagnetic radiation, and conduction of energy, heating system. Or just the Nautilus Heating System. Still technically just a rocket mass heater, but it does have a bunch of cool design changes to utilize the scrap I had.

I love everything about this series. Making fun of uneducated hippies, making something that benefits everyone, teaching the less knowledge about how to do it and actually putting it out to correctly show how it’s done. Amazing Jairus Edit: Omgosh I wasent expecting 50+ likes

I'm an uneducated hippie... metal worker/welder, multi-media artist, woodworker, design engineer, nationally published author (in print), pro musician, mechanic, draftsman.... I can and have worn many hats. What's your experience list? Please share. Curious minds want to know.... BTW, Ernie and Erica Wisser have made scores of rocket mass heaters. They inspired me to make mine, as well as Zero Labs, many other KZfaqrs.... and I'm still redesigning, drawing, using science, thermodynamics, physics... so many innovations to incorporate into my 2.0 I'm quite curious about the electro-magnetic qualities of a fire/heat... that's a new one on me. Peace

"the hippies" have plenty of the data that matters, this comes off as pretentious. I'll bet the thermal conductivity data "he found" is the same source the hippies have, or the hippies themselves led him to it.

This is a mix of 2 techs if you're interested, the rocket stove and the masonry stove or masonry heater. They have some beautiful models that I would have in my house if I had the time to build one. As a random thought, I wonder how clay would work as a thermal mass. I bet it would work really well.

You can really up the effectiveness of your helium tank heat exchanger by welding some fins onto it. Greater surface area translates directly to greater heat transfer of all 3 types. Loving this series so far. Cheers!

So question would the fire brick cement insulate enough that you could fiberglass the outside and coat with epoxy? Making it less likely to break when you move if you wanted a less effective but mobile version or could you build your own furniture dolly for it? Me spewing things I would think about not that they are needing but because it would be cool.

Honestly if I was you I would have used the fire brick material on the inside so it would protect the metal and stop it from destroying the metal.... Then again that might have required forward thought in this step..... Then again there are high temperature paints you could have used as well for the inside and outside to stop it from rapidly oxidizing due to heat.

If you just really enjoy playing in the mud and making a mess then skip this. Otherwise, there is a way-easier method to do what you are trying to accomplish. Here it is: Simply construct your burn chamber in whatever desired shape you want using combustible materials like cardboard or paper or wood and then cast your refractory around that. When everything is nice and hydrated, light it on fire and burn out the center and guess what? You have a perfect burn chamber in whatever design you desire. Easy peasy - lemon squeezy he.

@TomMakeHere
@TomMakeHere 5 жыл бұрын
Should do, they work best with small fast burning combustible materials. ie the idea is that you don't put logs of wood on it, you keep feeding it small sticks. You get more intense heat for a short period to let it draw, then the thermal mass releases that intense heat over time

You are a glutton for punishment. Using your hands to slop mortar is tough on the hands. Since you are letting to tape remain between the refractory you are expecting the blocks to break at specific spots. Will that not cause issues some way down the road ??? Thanks
