Espn decides who’s the mvp (which is sad). Last year they decided Embiid should get the mvp instead of Jokic and Embiid got it. This year they decided to give it to Shai or Tatum and they are clearly keeping Doncic out of the conversation for a reason.

SAS and the media is trying soooo hard to push the "Edwards as the face of the league" narrative that it is so blatantly obvious. He has no sound argument as to why he thinks Edwards is better than Luka, he just thinks he is based on his emotions lol. He even had the nerve to say Edwards is leaning to that Kobe-MJ comparison, but when other people compare Luka to MJ or Larry he would go ballistic. Luka is literally the only player who had the same stats as MJ in one season (32ppg, 9assists, 8rebounds). And yet Luka is close to averaging to 35ppg with 9assists and 8 rebounds. That almost a whole 10points, 5more assists, and 4 more rebounds than Edwards. He is not even better than Luka at 22. All of this started with Kyrie joined Dallas. I mean, Luka has still the same personality but he improved his game leaps and bounds since his 2nd year.

An mvp is the best player in the league. Luka has never and most likely will never be that. Luckily for him its an award voted on by stupid writers who confuse the scoring title with the mvp award. Thats how embiid who also didnt deserve it won. At least hes top 3. Luka usually finishes 10 or 11. Its really simple why luka shouldnt be mvp. All the guys who average around the same points as him are more efficient offensively and are better defenders. Lukas an offensive machine but basketball is a two way game.

The answer to you guys ignorant question is: ...DEFENSE!! Embiid, Jokic, Giannis, Lebron, Kobe, Duncan, MJ, Magic, Bird etc etc etc all played defense!!! Doncic does NOT and can NOT play this all important part of Basketball. IF he ever learns how to do this,....maybe he could be considered as a realistic Mvp candidate. Plus also, hes going to have to cut down on Turn Overs. Doncic has been Top 3 in turn overs EVERY year except for his rookie year!! These are pretty bad facts about his play😞

It's roughly 40% solo stats, 40% team success and 20% narrative. His numbers aren't that impressive in large part DUE to his team missing that many players. The guy that wins MVP is expected to do that. If he finishes top 3 in the West, he has a good chance. Harden and Westbrook also put a bad taste in the voters mouths. In short, they see guys putting up these type of numbers on teams like his as chasing stats at the expense of his teams success. They put up those numbers on what were perceived as bad teams, then they put them up on teams with a big 3, but the results were the same. As far as cries of racism, I won't completely disagree, but Jokic's continued reign at the top of the MVP leader boards year after year calls that into question. What Luka is doing isn't as impressive as what Jokic is. Even if their records were closer, Jokic is out there running the offense and the defense and he's doing it w/o being ball dominant from a position that isn't supposed to be distributing the ball. Despite fairly competitive numbers, the way Luka is putting them up isn't seen as conducive to team success and his teams performance supports that. Jokic's style of play has won him a title and similar types of players have also won titles playing in similar fashions. Had Harden, Westbrook or even Jordan won a title while putting up numbers like his, he'd sway more voters. For Jordan and the other two to win titles, they will have to do so while playing a far less selfish style of game that is more conducive to team success. He'd likely need to finish at least top 3 in his conference to have any chance at MVP with his current style of play and do so while having one of if not the best narrative backing his run. And people crying racism hurt Jokic in the past and since Jokic won, similar cries are going to hurt Luka even more. Especially w/ Jokic still leading.

For me there are 4 MVP candidates Jokic Luka Giannis and SGA. If MVP is based on the narrative then SGA should win. If MVP is based on who is the most valuable to their team then Giannis should win it. If its based on the best individual player of the season then Luka should win. If its a bit of everything then Jokic should win.
