I can certainly understand how she feels. I had no idea that some of the things I have experienced in life had anything to do with adhd.

auDHD here... this video is so painfully accurate. I didn't have a bad childhood at all, but my parents were/are VERY emotionally distant, neither of them have ever shown much emotion at all. I was told I was too sensitive/over dramatic all the time growing up. I'm 33 now and the last time I tried to talk to my parents about my struggles and how they could help me, it went in one ear and out the other. Literally the VERY next day my mom "forgot" that I had explained to her why it's hard for me to go along with spontaneous plans, and got annoyed with me for saying no. My 2 brothers are no better. I tried to educate one about my diagnosis and needs, but he was unreceptive. I don't really have any friends anymore so it's not like I can go to them for understanding and comfort. As sad as it sounds I have no one who truly cares about me... I know my family loves me but they don't care.

Yup.. that's why I keep it to myself! I only sparingly and strategically share my epilepsy when needed..

Your channel is that community that you described and I’m so grateful to see people who I relate to and to hear someone dealing with it like me. Your videos are phenomenal to me

It does really hurt to see. I'm autistic and my family and I have KNOWN of my autism for a very very long time. My niece has downs syndrome and with downs comes autism. When I try to talk about my own autism with my family I hear stuff like "where did this come from? are you more autistic now?" But just because my niece has downs syndrome and because you can "see her disability" (I hated saying that) when they talk about her autism it's like it's more "valid" in their eyes. They ask and talk about stuff I'm trying to talk aloud about. What I feel hard. But when it comes to me I'm being dismissed because in their minds "I'm not as bad as her."

I want to add that is can be very detrimental to your work life if you mention you have ADHD and are struggling with time management etc. Please know your legal rights for accommodations in the workplace and consider having a mediator or attorney if needed, to help you navigate through accommodations. Otherwise the employer could just let you go and you will have no recourse…

I didn’t think my kid had adhd, but he did, so we went to have him professionally evaluated and guess what, he has adhd

Yeah as a fairly attractive woman most people tend to not believe it and tell me I can‘t be on the spectrum and that I‘m an idiot for imagining these things… I scored almost the highest score on the most recent and most approved autism test 🤓
@henrietab26592 ай бұрын
Does the test you mention have some specific name? I really wanna look it up and hopefully take it too, l've taken autism tests in the past but they always seem so outdated and have really generalised questions that l just can't answer properly and it'd be really nice to find one that was more recent

@@henrietab2659 Yes of course! RAADS-R I still have to honestly say I don‘t feel like it‘s THE BEST simply because once more the answers aren‘t that simple for people on the spectrum because most of it depends on the circumstances but it‘s the best out there as of current and highly accurate with a success rate of over 80% so it doesn‘t hurt to try it
