Every time I hear what the Break Even point is, the more I’m convinced someone is using these movies to launder money. Look, I like Mackie, but he’s not a Billion Dollar leading man. The movie will likely do well, but if it breaks even I’ll be amazed.

The thing Hollywood doesn’t seem to understand is that things have a shelf life. The super hero thing was HUGE for awhile. And while it may not be dead just yet, it's not far off. They spend more and more and, even if they make the same as their predecessors, the profit margin shrinks. They have a thoroughbred horse they're riding around the track, breaking speed records but, even when they've ridden it into the ground, they're still using the riding crop to beat it, hoping to get another 50 yards out of it. Plus, Disney flat out oversaturated the market with superhero stuff. That's poor long term planning.

This is due to Bob Iger’s firing of Ike Perlmutter, which was the one who kept Marvel films on budget, on-time and said no to Kevin Feige’s moronic ideas! (his firing was their biggest mistake)

They expect an Avengers Engame Box office on a fourth captain America movie (with a different Cap from the previous movies). You are screwed, Marvel.

I think they ask themselves "how can I lose more money in a film?", make a brain storm and them put everything that they think os the best to lose money in the project.

If it needs to gross a billion... then it bombed before it reached the gate.

Coca Cola learned the hard way that people don't want New Coke, they want Coke Classic. In the same way Marvel fans want Captain America Classic, not New Cap. How much money will this one lose? People that did see Falcon and Winter Soldier hated it, and those that didn’t see the show will be wondering about the new personalities for the two and be turned off by them.

These overbloated budgets for more flash than substance. All for a character that should have just stayed as how they were originally instead of trying to shove them into Cap's shoes and shield.

Word of mouth is what is killing Disney properties. People are tired of wasting their money, and therefore in turn, tell everyone else they know not to waste their money. Brand identity, and critics have become meaningless in 2024, and in some cases I dare say a hindrance to success because of brand poisoning.

There is no wat that movie costs that much unless somebody is cooking the books, badly, even overpaying mediocre actors cant explain such budgets.
