I balance on a finishing nail on the wall. I always balance when I sharpen on my bench grinder. Some people spend way to much money on fancy sharpening machines and blade balancers. Keep it simple is my mato. Hope you sale a million.

My concern was that the balancer standing alone on the table top was out of balance, why?

First you need a well balanced clean surface on your bench to start when he showed the balancer it was already leaning to on side. Second you must wire brush your blades clean or it is a waste of time. Stuck on grass will throw your blades all over the place.

I use a screw driver in a vise horizontal. Lay the blade on top of screw driver.. I have done that for decades- make sure the blade is clean

Great idea, but some mowers like Honda have 2 blades. The blade that 'mulches' has a hole that your balancer will not accommodate.

Hi, just received this. I used to use that grey thingy..lol. I put your tool on the ground in garage and learned the garage floor was not level. Found a level area and this tool is very cool..

the surface it sits on should have nothing to do with it being in balance length wise. It has 2 contact points that the carriage pivots on and has a bubble, that should automatically find level no matter what. I believe level side to side is the most important thing before you get started with a blade. If it's level side to side the carriage pins are level, that reduces friction on those points, then the carriage should show true level. and when you set a blade on it the bubble will show true, end of story. Best idea I've seen yet although you have to set it up correctly or it's nothing more than a waste of money and time. To me it looks like a cheap printed part that will require some adjustment to be accurate, and that's not to, say how will it stand up to the test of time being plastic??????? The one in the video is not showing level from the start. Good luck with yours.

thats a great idea ! maybe this spring ill order one from you. quick question i have is how rigid is the plastic ? ive never used a printed part before, its new ground for me, was a machinist 37 years, now play with yard equipment while going to school for small engines. i currently a little top shaped ballancer and yes it dont work well on the star shaped holes.

I've got a Honda hrx217 model and the center holes are 32mm, and the other is 21mm. Would it work on both blades. As I'm in the process of getting a new balancer or just make one on the lathe using magnets and bearings. Although I'd like one while I try making it. I'm just a weekend warrior and not for commercial use. Thanks for your time.

How close does it need to be to balanced? I got mine to where there's a slight tilt on one side. The second blade, when you verify it, thats how much mine is off.

How large does the adapter fit? I mow with old Lawn-Boys and they have a 7/8” center mounting hole.

Nice idea but you may need to pre balance the top part if you are printing parts, as they may have variability.

Everything is symmetrical. The top portion is already balanced.

So I bought one of these and the conical piece the blade is supposed to rest on is too small. It seems to be max 0.5" dia and I was trying to balance a blade with a 7/8" center hole. Left me having to guess as to when I had it positioned correctly which, of course, defeats the entire purpose of it. I would not recommend if you have blades with >0.5" center dia. I wasted my money.

Do you have a phone number so I can speak to you about my unit I just received because it isn’t working at all. It keeps going to the left even when turning the blade to the other side. I’m very confused how this is even possible but had my neighbor watch it do it and we are stumped as to what is wrong with it.

Better level up your work bench first before you put your new blade leveling device because the bubble on your new balancer is showing the bubble not level with now lawn mover blade on top of it. Just my opinion coming from a retired machinist of 40 years.

Maybe clean the garbage build up off the blade "with a wire wheel or brush" ... before trying to grind ballance ... garbage junk build up is "false weight ...
