@@shotbychrisl Well, I'm not giving up hope that Pentax will eventually bring the equivalent of the Nikon FM or FM2 onto the market. Because the only Pentax camera that comes reasonably close to an FM or FM2 with a metal leaf shutter is the Pentax K2, where you can at least shoot from 1/125 to 1/1000 of a second without batteries. The only cameras with K-mount that work completely mechanically, apart from the battery-operated light meter, come from Ricoh, Cosina and Chinon, or are their export models. And such a fully mechanically functioning SLR camera directly from Pentax, perhaps also with a 1/4000 as the fastest mechanical shutter speed, that would be a real challenge and there would be no need to use other manufacturers. I still use my Voigtlander Bessa L with the 25mm Skopar. Paid for 20 years ago, zone focusing, no flash, accurate metering and FULL FRAME.

That you might not be part of the Pentax 17's main target group and are upset that after 20 years Pentax hasn't included digital in their main target group with their first new analogue camera? By the way, the main target group are 18-35 year olds who have never taken photos with an analog camera before, have only taken photos mainly or entirely with a smartphone and therefore have completely different viewing habits, namely upright. @@michaelbruchas6663 a camera that today costs around £300 on an ebay gamble no tested and no warranties. Definitely a good camera, but this is not the ideal scenario for someone starting on film from 0 in 2024 which is the point of my video. The 17 isnl't a camera that was aim for people that have been in the photography industry for decades.

I have a Pentax camera with that same screw. In black but no chance of losing it.

I have the 17 and trust me, that screw is TIGHT af. Once it’s in place, it isn’t going anywhere. Plus you don’t even notice the screw cuz it’s in your hand the whole time you’re shooting with it. This camera is built really well.
