i thinks it more mellow....311 was driven by a mixture of hard rock punk, ska, reggae, hip hop, this sounds more poppy and mellow.....and why would u be disappointed in old timers like nick hexum who is around for 20 plus years...nick hexum already did what he had to do.

I'm a fan from way back. '90. I think all of us knew this day would come. However, imagine these songs powered by the rest of the band. Surely I'm not the only one to think this.

I first heard 311 when I was about 13 and I hated it. My cousin played me the Grassroots album and I thought it sucked. After a couple of years I decided to give them another listen (particularly when Transistor came out) and fell completely in love with them. I can honestly say as a musician and fan that I love everything they put out. Even their bad stuff (UPLIFTER) is still fuckin' brilliant. This album hasn't even come out yet and there is a place on my shelf for it. Rock on Nick.

Just enjoy the music everyone. If it is not pleasing to your ears then find another song. All the negativity in this world is so disappointing. I find this album very chill and fun to sing along with. Very few things bring a smile to my face these days. This album makes me smile.

I grew up as a big 311 fan, first band that just hit me right in the sweet spot at the perfect time. I used to not dig their softer stuff as much as the super-funky joints, but I always was impressed by the musicianship of it. now looking back that strikes me as some of their best material. so this is a nice extension of that sound. good to hear him doing something a little more grown up. me and my friends still joke around about em and the silliness of alot of the lyrics (very "4:20, bro!") but I will always respect them as one of the great jam(my) bands and one of the most epic and enjoyable live acts ever.

also can't help but think this is a similar direction Bradley Nowell would have taken had he not succumbed to his demons.

Must state: people are never satisfied. Take Chris Cornell, did an album called 'Scream' and everyone calls him a sellout, for stepping out of the rock box and being innovative with his sound. And here, people are saying this is just like 311. If he would've done something way different, people would be saying he needs to go back to his 311 stuff. Can't win!!

How the hell does this guy find the time to write so many damn songs? I mean... 311's got a new album out every few years and they play live so much. Like damns.

Surprising, the day after I stopped analyzing When I wasn't looking That's when you walked in Coming outta the cool blue Couldn't figure out if you were someone I already knew I couldn't place the face, I said "Haven't we met?" I'd been hiding in the corner Sending out warnings Trying to keep the world away You got by my defenses Knocked me senseless Something worth the wait Just one heartbeat at a time Nice and easy, stars aligned And it happened super natural Just one heartbeat at a time All the molecules combined Hearts fell together, happened super natural It's like lighting You can't look away even though it's kinda frightening Like waves crashing through You don't know what to do You're caught up in the feeling And your head is reeling Flying at the speed of sound High on the vibrations Mother Nature, here to hold you down Just one heartbeat at a time Nice and easy, stars aligned And it happened super natural Just one heartbeat at a time All the molecules combined Hearts fell together, happened super natural I never liked the sound of settling People always meddling So I was happier all alone, on my own I always thought one day it'd happen easily I never knew it'd happen super naturally Just one heartbeat at a time Nice and easy stars aligned And it happened super natural Just one heartbeat at a time All the molecules combined Hearts fell together, happened super natural

You know, my second concert was 311 and Incubus at Mud Island here in Memphis back in 2000. I've been listening to them since I was 6. And you know, uh, you know... uh... I'm on the fence here.

I for one like this song and can't relate to the "This-sounds-like-311-but-doesn't-sound-like-it-could-have-been-on-Transistor" rage.

This really just sounds like 311, similar to Amber, Whisky and Wine, Two Drops in the Ocean, not saying I don't like it, just sounds like 311. SA sound with Ghostwolf is distinctly different and unique, I really dig the Ghostwolf sound which is similar to the 80's band, The Church.

I know I have heard a couple and LOVE LOVE LOVE them. I have pre-order the album on iTunes. I also pre-order a cd copy that is sign by Nick Hexum. That will just stay in my 311 Shrine of signed memorabilia.

Artists are on contract to start their shows when they are supposed to start their shows.. If you were hanging on his nuts so hard (which is weird in the first place) then why didn't you just wait by the bus when the show was over?

That was just my comment.Was I would nt be surprised hearing this on one of there new shit albums since everything after from chaos fell off,and tough..
@justinhayes47810 жыл бұрын
it might take a couple of listens kinda like a first straw its ok i kinda stop drinking the 311 cool aid musically after uplifter which had stellar production do to bob rock only because i love the arena and hair rock sound but song writing wise 311 has been on a downhill since DTOM. 311 in the 90s could do wrong as far as im concerned music to soundsystem absolute classics flawless material. what 311 doesnt accomplish on records nowadays they make up for it live
@jbrutocao10 жыл бұрын
You obviously don't understand the life.... we cant please all of you fans... And we wish we could!!!!!
@justinhayes47810 жыл бұрын
i mean 311 could DO no wrong in 90's gotta correct my statement in hindsight great fucking band you could easily utter 311 name in the same sentence as deftones,RATM,,RHCP,incubus, in the 90's that is.311 should have been were incubus is right now IMO

Hey kyle couldn't agree with you more. If you don't like it don't fucking listen. But no need to talk shit either. If you want to hear killer music check out Pepper if you don't already listen to them the old shit not just the new stuff

this is basically the same progression as the hook by blues traveler

and pachelbel's "canon in d". the difference being that nick owns it and has a little fun with it (as evidenced by the guitar solo)
@MikeFalkner31110 жыл бұрын
I agree with you 100%. This just sounds like a shitty 311 song
@captainhowdy889710 жыл бұрын
I would nt be surprised hearing this on one of 311s new shit albums.But was loyal to them in high school 96-00 went o every show high as shit.Why cant they make good music anymore I mean transistor sounds different from blue,blue sounds different from soundsytem im sorry after from chaos they went downhill like a motherfucker..
@sillymilly31110 жыл бұрын
Simple solution: just listen to their 90's albums, or greatest hits, or whatever the fuck you want. Don't knock music you don't like, just don't listen to it. problem solved.
@FLyAgaric42110 жыл бұрын
From Chaos is definitely their peak. Evolver has some good ones on it too though.. after that though, nothing.
