Look back at this #fullfight between #oscardelahoya against Jeff Mayweather. #boxing
Mexican warrior Oscar Valdez will face Australian former world title challenger Liam Wilson in a special 10-round junior lightweight attraction on Friday, March 29 at Desert Diamond Arena in Glendale, Arizona. Valdez, making his seventh appearance in the Grand Canyon State, joins Wilson in seeking redemption in the arena that hosted their last defeats.
In the co-feature, WBC/WBA/Ring Magazine champion Seniesa “Super Bad” Estrada and WBO/IBF ruler Yokasta Valle collide in a highly anticipated showdown for the undisputed minimumweight crown. The prolonged war of words between the two world champs will culminate in a milestone 12-round fight presented in association with Golden Boy Promotions and MarvNation Promotions.
Valdez-Wilson & Estrada-Valle headline a stacked card streaming live and exclusively in the U.S. on ESPN+.

De La Hoya had a hell of a career. Fought from 130 to 160. Won his first world belt in 94, fought old legends like Julio Cesar Chavez and Pernell Whitaker, and faced prime warriors like Trinidad, Quartay, Mosley, Vargas, Hopkins. Not even close. Oscar would get better. He had a long prime. Mid 90s to 2004. Still was a top fighter until the night he fought Pacquiao where he was drained and a walking skeleton. Oscar was in his prime most of his career but when that happens usually the ending is very sudden and abrupt. Nobody expected Pac to do that. Oscar was done before the fight started.

@@eclisis5080 he was #1 pound for pound boxer in the world in the mid 90s , he arguably beat Trinidad and Shane Mosley in the rematch , was 6 time world champion in 6 different weight classes and arguably outboxing Bernard Hopkins before he got knocked out . Mayweather couldn’t hurt him when de La Hoya was 39 years old already when they fought , do I need to say more ? O and not to mention 1992 Olympic gold medalist

DLH would be a problem for any fighter from any era in his prime. Had those hands, mean streak, jaw and was built perfectly. Could box or fight it out. Very quick and a great finisher. This wasn't his prime mind you. Only 4 fights in and still a cake walk. He was always his best when he got that strong jab going.
