The North Face Stimson Jacket comes out Fall 2022 and replaces the Freethinker Jacket. From what I can after testing them both, the Stimson has the same features and fit as the Freethinker. Which I am happy about. I really like the Freethinker and wound up using it most of the days splitboarding over the 2022 winter and spring.

Dang this review is helpful but question, coming from a 10 year old 2L Gore-tex shell from Norrona would you recommend this for a full-time winter shell? Mostly only looked at proper 3L GT shells like the Sabre, Tsirku, etc but the price tags are hard to swallow. That said I know it'll last me another 10 years. I like the style of the Stinson and typically run a Arctyrex Atom underneath on the blustery days ... also 6'1" and 212lbs so I think I'd size up for the space/swag. Would love to hear your opinion!
