Essequibo, Hidden River - Extra Long Documentary: • Essequibo: Hidden Rive...
The Norwegian Fjords are one of the most dramatic landscapes in Europe. Billions of herring darken the waters, and orcas and humpback whales feast on the banquet. Migrating salmon leap up waterfalls and colorful sea slugs glow in the deep. Slow-motion and time-lapse photography reveal an extraordinary diversity of life and behaviors rarely seen. It’s an intimate portrait of a unique wilderness.

Beautiful presentation! As a person who grew up in a small town facing the South Pacific Ocean in Eastern Samar, Philippines, and almost every week during spring and summer I go to the shores, mangroves, rock pools, coral reefs, and open ocean to fish and gather sea shells for food and for a living, or just go swimming and just wanders and wonder the natural beauty of the corals and the sea in general. It makes me want to visit this other side of the world, to explore and experience too this beautiful paradise land of fjords.

Truly wonderful and well covered life in and among the legendary Fjords of beautiful Norway. I've a comment here on something particular within this landscape of environments so well documented. It was around ~ 30 years ago. I had begun an intensive study marine life, specifically tropical - reef ecosystems - invertebrate life - from ALL around our world. Fortunately this was just prior to tough crackdowns by both federal as well as international agencies; so both the exportation and local importation laws were not as yet in force. 'Live Rock' as it was then called was (only then) a veritable zoo of species and life; the variety and the sheer amount of inverts, of plant life, and even of vertebrate life was beyond incredible. You may have a piece (live rock was usually dead coral heads but not always - location was usually the determinate) of rock only the size of your fist - and the count could literally be in the countless thousands ! After a very short while, I decided to mother, foster, and nurture these heads of dead coral alone ! Little time passed, - and one of these little denizens slowly began to embrace more and more of my interest and time - SPS corals (small polyp stony corals). The lives and cycles of these little engineers and construction workers (and all the often symbiotic life with some association with them) was totally beyond enthralling. The density and variety of life on the reef is literally second to absolutely none (not even another love of mine - the unbelievable rain forest). Without a true out-of-control desertation or 'comment' attaching something tangent to the subject and comment here, there, and absolutely 'everywhere' - I am going to make my severest of efforts NARROW down ! That and those displays of light (Bioluminescence') from some deep ocean water organisms is most definitely not limited to deeper waters. I got the shock of my life from a large shallow breeding tank I set up for rock exclusively. One day

@@LifeOdysseyMotivation On most things yes, some things cost on average more than in Iceland, and a few things less, but Norway is just very expensive. Beautifully done, all of it. Photography, production, music, all soul-stirring. I spent my life on Alaskan seas and fjords, much of the wildlife is of the same or similar species interacting in the same ways so it was quite familiar to me on a number of levels. What is described as a rabbit fish herein is known as a ratfish on the Pacific Ocean side. It is one of the most ancient of all extant species living into this, our age. Assuming Jan and Liliane Haft are in the same family, what a treat too to find two so very gifted family members. Thank you for your efforts. P.S. My grandfather emigrated from ENE of Kristiansund back at the turn of the 20th century, so this wonderful film is like a genetic memory stirring within me.

I grew up next to these fjords, and we used to swim in them all summer. Not as cold as you'd think because of the Gulf Stream. I mean it isn't warm, but that's why you brought the towel along. I used to dive down and pick starfish from the bottom and throw it at my brother when I got up. Sometimes I'd throw jellyfish at him, and he'd throw them back. Good times!

Made from manufacturers submarines when they use ice accumulating above the submarine and it makes a big ice trail behind from above following the submarine. Thus, when the submarine-machine uses the ice, it becomes like a glacier. With Sand and dirt, because it's a gas-liquid depth ice, has a special effect on land regarding the movement of it. Thus, submarines with wheels when going from the water to land carry the large ice, which modifies the land (not just the cold nor the movement but the shaping and molding; the ice holds a lot of dirt on it too...).

Fun Fact: Orcas are both whales and dolphins. To be technical, all dolphins are whales. They are part of the animal group: Cetaceans. This group can be broken down into Mysteceti (baleen whales) and Odontoceti (toothed whales). Odontoceti or Toothed whales are broken into 5 families- Narwhals & belugas, sperm whales, beaked whales, dolphins and porpoises. All dolphins are whales but not all whales are dolphins ✨️

🏔🌲Mother Nature is truly spectacular! This is incredible viewing & is so informative & educational. Such wonderful footage & really showcases Norge's beauty & all the natural wonders abound. Norge's amazing & equally, our entire planet is amazing! I must say however, that this is very bittersweet for me, because on one hand we see the amazing beauty of our natural world, then on the other hand, this quickly reminds me of the serious damage being caused to our planet via man himself & as we've witnessed within this documentary, innocent marine life are unnecessarily injured, choked &/or trapped & killed. Seeing majestic Norge like this, reminds me of where some of my ancestors hail from & makes me want to go back, which i certainly will asap. Tusen takk for sharing & i'll share this one with my family & friends for sure.
