I mean, the story is literally told here, it tried to take Swain's secrets but Swain realized, saw through the demon, learned how to wield it, and took it by force through a ritual. This was not a pact, far from it, Swain made the demon his bitch, now he is going to use it to do the same thing to the Black Rose, Noxus, and the lands he conquers, all in the name of Noxus, and in preparation for whatever darkness he knows is coming.

Zander Wolfe I hope Swain stays a grey character and that he’s not just a corrupt ruler, but that he does what he genuinely thinks is best for Noxus. That’s the whole point of Noxus. That it’s not just some evil place with evil people doing evil things. But that it’s the unexpected good guy in Runeterra

I mean, for now, I do believe that the Void is going to be the final boss of the lore, making everyone gather together to stop it, because if they don't, there will not have anything to fight for. Even Morderkaiser would have interest in stoping the Void, since he still needs an existence to rule at. However, Aatrox and the other Darkin would probably join the Void. Aatrox himself states that he would embrace the Void now if he had the chance. Morderkaiser, at the other hand, is THE threat to Noxus. They build the capital around his beloved Bastion, and he's probably mad at them, mostly at LeBlanc. The Black Rose's existence is not only to rule Noxus, but also to keep Morderkaiser away, and LeBlanc knows that Swain can be an good asset to it, that's why the Pale Woman is a member of the Trifarix. But, yeah, it's either the Void
