Pursued across England, their adventures lead them through poverty stricken city areas where several destitute people offer them aid on their way, into the countryside where they meet the strange, colorful, and sometimes menacing characters for which Dickens is so well known. Grandfather’s mind begins to wander, and he leans even more for help on Nell, who herself is feeling ill and weak. Eventually they reach a safe pasture with a kind gentleman and think their troubles may be over, but heart-breaking tragedy strikes.

Dear Mil, I believe you will never be forgotten for your reading and theatrical skills. I read this book aloud to my wife just before she passed and what a thrill to hear your incredible rendition. Thank you for bringing back memories.

Hi Mill. I want to thank you for providing such a rich narrative for this book. There is no greater treat than to have somebody read you a story , investing so much in the characters , plot and descriptions. ( I was glad when the book abandon's the "Narrator" after Chap 3 .) The most gripping for me was your reading of Chapter 30 , when you vividly capture Nell's sense of fear when an intruder comes into the room in search of money. Thank you so much . R.

Dearest Mil: Thank you. Most assuredly a three hanky ending (when are they not, with Dickens?) and I now understand why New Yorkers greeted the ship carrying the next installment with cries of 'Does Little Nell yet live?'. Charlotte in California

I listened to this little and often over the last many weeks as I did my housework! Slow start but stuck with it and was glad I heard it through to the end. Credit to Mil Nicholson for voice acting.

What a ridiculous waste of space to have an audiobook in HD. It doesn't improve the sound! You'd be wiser just to offer low-res. audiobooks with just good audio.
