In episode 6 we kept things local again, everyone wanted to hunt but didn’t want to go out of town because of the ass whippin’ we’ve had this year. Scoped out some of the old stomping grounds and there were tons of gadwalls and some mallard in the hole. We all met up at the gas station in the morning, Simms was getting some diesel and wanted everyone to wait so he didn’t have to get out of the truck to open the gate but everyone was antsy, ready to get out there and left. While hurrying and trying to catch back up there was a po-po sitting up at the local diner around 4 am. Post ticket upon arrival we jumped right into trying to figure out where we were hunting. Tricky start to the day, there were two holes but didn’t know if the ducks would go to the back or front so we posted up right in the middle. First light there they came, dropped at least ten. Second group broke off and spread out which made it hard to see ‘em through the tree line. Two pretty big volleys, ended up doing okay other than the ticket, definitely beat the one from Kansas.
