Used to catch bullies after work and things got straightened out. Now you can go to jail for taking out the trash.
@gracebe235
@gracebe235 20 күн бұрын
Yeah, I loved the days when I was five years old and could get away with straightening them out by a swift punch in the nose! I have no fear of decking someone that bullies me now….except being sued. But mono on mono? Oh yeah, I’ll take your a$$ out back and get your priorities straightened out, real quick…..if we were allowed to handle it that way. Got into a knock down drag out fight with family (in-law that lives with us), last week. No touching involved…..but I stood my ground and got absolutely vicious! They had it coming….not only that, but they started it. Once they pounced on me, it was no holds barred! Unleashed a whole case of whoop-a$$ on them! They left for two days, licking their wounds in a motel. They’re back now, but we ‘have an understanding’. But being the narcissists that they are, I’m sure they will test my boundaries again-soon. You can almost set your clock by this! These types live for chaos! I don’t like living like that, I much prefer laughter and relaxing in my home. Home is supposed to be your sanctuary. I don’t like when I bend over backwards to keep the peace, but they are still looking for a fight. I’m fed up with this, but hey, I do know how to stand my ground! (I don’t think that when they jumped my crap this time, that they were going to get the vengeance that was ultimately unleashed. Kind of freaked us both out. But they had been pushing too far for too long). A lot of people, even in the workplace in the past, make the mistake of taking my good-naturedness as weakness…..so they start to bully me and take advantage……wrong move on their part. Then when I unleash, they accuse me of not giving them any warning that I was capable of such fury. Good grief! I just try to be cool with people and treat them how I would want to be treated…..you know? Common sense. But like I said, they think I’m this meek pushover and then start to mistreat me…..I try to give them hints and drop warnings before it goes too far….but they keep pressing……the next thing we know, HULK is in the room! And they act all butt-hurt because they claim that they didn’t see that coming! There’s one thing that my brother used to say to people; “Whatever you do, don’t mess with my little sister.” Ya think?!

Thats pretty much how its going at my job. currently looking to work somewhere else. we had 4 trucks running at our branch with decent leads on each one, now we have 3 trucks and the other 2 have people who have been at the job for 6 months with no experience prior. Ive got 7 years and my boss says im harder to work with over the other 2 trucks. yet im the one who has the most efficient truck . the least amount of service calls. sucks for this branch when I leave. no one is going to be around the clean up the other 2 trucks worth of work. PS. the other 2 trucks work looks like complete garbage more than 50% of the time because they were thrown onto trucks before they were ready and were let loose and the boss doesnt care as long as the job gets billed, we have an extreme number of service calls for crappy work between the 2 trucks. were kinda slow lately so its time I find another job that pays better. even if the headache is still there at another job i'll make more somewhere else and possibly have a boss that cares more about quality of craftsmanship rather than ease of working with idiots who question nothing and in turn the boss doesnt question their quality because of it.

Not just in the workplace either, customers I swear are losing IQ points every year. I'm the senior tire tech at my shop with 5.5 years (we exclusively only do tires and wheels it's a small shop), and I swear half the customers don't know that you need an appointment during the busy season and can't just show up anytime expecting us to drop everything for them. They get all mad about it and unfortunately front desk caves in as many times as not and adds to the already idiotic amount of stuff to do for the day. They also don't know wtf a closing time is, they'll show up 10 minutes to close with the definition of a non emergency job that's like an hour plus long and they're shocked when they're told either a hard fuck no or that there will be a $100 after hours fee added before we even touch their stuff. Or there will be the scamming fuckass that claims we wrecked their stuff even though it came in looking like it drove down the shittiest gravel road possible and we have multiple witnesses saying it came in like that. I could go on for a while with the braindead room temperature IQ shit that customers try and pull.

I’m a young welder and the old guys are retiring. Biggest problem we have is all the tribal knowledge getting lost because management has relied solely on that for production. I mean no weld symbols, parts missing on the blueprints, and no process sheets telling us anything about what needs to be done. So now that the old guys are retiring, we’re having to rediscover how they did things while also somehow keep up the production pace on pair with said old timers. It’ll only get worse with time or until we ourselves become the old timers that the company relies so heavily on but pays so little for

"Violence is never the answer..." My fellow South Arkansas brother, when you said that I could not believe that you did not realize that statement is the problem! Sometimes violence is the only answer that makes any sense and I would contend that the school shootings we are dealing with are because lower level violence, like getting in a good old-fashioned fist fight, are being shunned so much that these young men are breaking and thinking that high level violence is the only answer. We need to get back to a place where if a man crosses you and needs to be straightened out, you don't have to worry about going to prison because you got tired of his crap and manually reinserted those words down his throat! #bringbackdueling

Two years later, he asked me to come back and work for him. Fair enough. I said no. But that is fine. We all knew where we stood. There are no losers in this. Only choices, what they next generations get wrong, is that they apply too much meaning to a fight. Once it is over, forget about it. It wasn't all that.

Never were these issues to be reported to HR or administration. Why, because we were adult men…….now, the firefighters are told if you feel that you work in a hostile environment to call HR directly. I’m retired, but many of the individuals who promoted to Fire Captain tell me in private that the new employees are sensitive snowflakes who think taking direction or even an order, if given forcefully, is a threatening environment and they call HR. Both of these are tied to the same thing basically. Boys and young men aren't like we were. We were strong and tough. Worked hard in shitty conditions sometimes and knew what respect meant. Now it's toxic to be a man and we have the highest rates for people not knowing what they are and thinking all kinds of truly crazy crap. So no real men to work hard and keep things running and no real men to make babies. Yup you all are in trouble when we all die off.

Words have meaning, and consequences. Freedom of speech is not freedom from consequences. I worked in the field for 15 years before I went back to school and became an engineer. I will say, people in the "professional" world think they can just talk any kind of way to people, and I come from a world where what you say on site, often was dealt with right there. Now, I bite my lip. I remain "professional" but I definitely don't think it is right. I have developed thicker skin, but like you said, "bullies just get away with it." Swearing, insulting, condescending, and the difference between the old timers I came up with (Roscoe), and the current "climate" is people feel free to run their mouth, with impunity. Maybe if people knew they ran their mouth, the possibility of getting popped in the mouth, and everyone looking at the say, "See? That's what you get for talking shit?" Rather than crying, and police, people would put more value into something that was VERY important when I was coming up and seems to have gotten lost, respect. We should be better than violence, but some people need hard lesson, I have been popped a few times, and I deserved it, and I am better person for it. You lose something when you remove real world consequences.

I am that older generation and I can tell you, spot on. When all was said and done, if we shook hands that was great but if we didn't that was ok too. Just might end up doing it again is all. There was no crying to anyone about crap, we bucked up and took care of business as it should always be dealt with. The gals, same thing, and let me say this, they could scrap. Remember after having kids and my daughter being around when things were about to go sideways, she'd just say....Dad! She knew when I was about to unleash on a situation, the calm before the storm. My problem was I didn't care how big you were, we were going to make hay if that's the direction things were heading. Was recently in a self checkout line at the market, wheeled my small cart around a young feller standing in line, he was about 8 feet behind the next individual in line. I tapped the back of his heel with the cart. He was by my figure abut 17-18 years old, 6 foot 7,8. Big kid, head buried in his phone. Of course he was disturbed about this so instead of apologizing I told him to grow up. This went on back and forth slightly for a minute. Then he says that I was picking on a kid. A kid I thought. Buddy in my day you would be getting off the bus and meeting your new momma, the drill instructor. Yep, the generation today seems to be about hurt this that, but I can tell you, the sympathy train never stops at my station, that I'll guarantee. I've had a few encounters with the younger generation and always the same result. I call them out on not being a real man. Yes, one day I may get my butt kicked but, it'll be worth it, because I will make sure they know what it was like to tangle with a man.

Great video dude. And you are right. I almost had to go to trial for something that never happened. Frame jobs that involve dirty cops are very real. So corrupt HR is a given.
