Just yesterday I stumbled upon videos by a man who goes around and cleans the gravestones for people he considers special. He uses the appropriate cleaning solutions depending on the type of stone they are. They come out looking like new. Imagine if all gravestones could be so honored. This was very interesting. Thanks.

Oddly enough I was doing the same thing yesterday at Forest Cemetery in Coeur d'Alene, as I take a walk nearly everyday in a different place and cemeteries are so interesting and peaceful versus parks. All of the towns notable citizens are in this one, as it is the oldest and by far the most beautiful. I have no idea why I find walking through them and noting what the headstones say and thinking about what their life, was like somewhat comforting in an odd way, but I always have since I walked through a cemetery in Claremont California on the way home from school back in the day. The fact you can actually find out some history behind some of them is wonderful, as it was all just left up to my imagination as a kid!

I have always found cemetery’s fascinating places full of history and the people deserve to have their names read by visitors. Although they can also obviously be very sad places it’s good to remember these people and their names. I visit my parents headstones fairly regularly as they are local to me but have also traveled to visit much older family members resting places.

The guy with the mosquito on his headstone has a cool story about it, he was super dedicated to them. This is from part of his obituary: "In 1955, he moved to Vero Beach to become the director of the Indian River Mosquito Control District, where he served the residents of the county for 48 years, focused on finding effective mosquito control methods while respecting environmental and economic concerns. A past president of the Florida Mosquito Control Association, he received that association’s Maurice W. Provost Memorial Award and the Meritorious Service Award, as well as the Medal of Honor and Meritorious Service Award from the American Mosquito Control Association. In 2003, he was named a Distinguished Alumnus of the University of Florida. Throughout his career, John always welcomed new ideas and enjoyed sharing knowledge and camaraderie within the entomological community. He was a friend and mentor to several generations of mosquito control workers."

I've been to Greenwood. I have vlogged about it in #Haunted. It's unfortunate that Babyland has a connection to Sunland Mental Hospital. Very sad and tragic. You can hear sounds of children playing if you walk through at night. And Fred Weeks also wanders the cemetery at night. He isn't too happy that his monument he built saying the three English men who sold him the land were crooks was taken down by the cemetery. And the Wilmott mausoleum is haunted by a ghostly soldier who patrols that area at night. Great vlog Adam!

In regard to ‘Baby Land’, and why the kids and babies are in one spot. When babies die, the parents are younger and haven’t thought about or could afford cemetery plots. Also, most funeral homes & cemeteries bury babies and children for free.
