If i was only allowed 1 rod setup it would be right out of gate a 7ft medium heavy lews hank parker casting rod with a lews speed spool lfs with 15lb fluoro or 30lb braid(maybe a fluoro or mono leader) to cover every and all fishing techniques. Thats for jigs, topwater, lipless cranks or regular crankbaits, texas and weightless, and frog fishing in the 1/4oz frogs to the 3/8oz maybe 1/2oz frogs. Braided line you can get away 30lb braid with frogs perfectly fine as long as your aware of the vegetation your fishing.

When I want to take just one rod. I take multiple reels with different lines and weights. And I simply change the rod. It can become a pain to cheange back and forth. But it is easier than dragging multiple rods. And of course the expense. You can use braid and do a leader like you said. But I try and avoid tying leader knots if I can. You can get pretty fast at changing reels. For me it is faster then tying a leader knot. And I don't have to worry about the leader knot breaking.

I like to keep it simple. I think every bass angler needs 4 rods. 1 spinning rod, and 3 casting rods. For the spinning rod, a 7’ or 7’2 medium light, 3000 sized reel, and 15lb braid to a 8 or 10lb fluoro leader. Basically every lure that u could throw on a spinning rod, u can throw like Ned rigs, drop shots, tubes, small swim baits and more. For your all around casting rod, a 7’2 medium heavy with a 7.5:1 reel and 17lb fluoro. This one will allow you to throw jigs, chatterbaits, rattle traps, and basically every other lure. Then your second bait caster, a 7’ medium with a reel in the 7s and 12lb fluoro. This will allow u to throw your Jerkbaits, weightless plastics, and square bills. Then for your final bait caster, a 7’2 heavy rod with an 8.3:1 reel, and 50lb braid. This will let u throw frogs, swim jigs, big top waters, and u can flip and pitch with it too.
@vvdreamsnagzvv71782 ай бұрын
What about if you only want 2 what would you go with

@@vvdreamsnagzvv7178I would go with a 7’ medium spinning rod with a 2500 or 3000 sized reel, 15lb braid to 8lb fluoro leader. for your bait caster, a 7’ to 7’ 4” medium heavy fast action rod will be great. pair it up with a reel in the 7’s with 40lb braid to 15lb fluoro leader. That will cover about 90 percent of bass fishing. hope this helps

@TylersReelFishing Жыл бұрын
1. Lots of guys use different line setups for different things. I use straight braid (40-60) for topwater and very heavy cover applications like matter grass, and straight fluorocarbon for everything else. For spinning combos, however, I throw light braid to a light fluorocarbon leader 2. Those line ratings are for mono/fluoro, so just think about line diameter. If the rod can handle “20lb line”, it can also handle 65lb braid

Quick question why do you have so many rods does each rod have its own purpose for u (no mean stuff)
@TylersReelFishing4 жыл бұрын
Each rod is specially designed to work best for a certain technique or lure. Watch some of my tournament videos and you'll understand more

No, it likely means 20lb mono, which is like 50lb braid
