I usually hit anywhere from a 90 to 98 and i've been seriously training for 2.5 years. No drill has ever given me the incredible feeling of clubface control like this one does. I've always been able to do chip shots and compress, however, I struggle to do a full swing and still apply the same impact force. I would lose the club head or my hands in transition on the downswing. I would vouch for this practice drill 1 million times over, especially for newer golfers. Since I have a decent foundation (left arm, posture, grip), this ONE drill put all the pieces together for me. This is a must try if you are struggling with CONSISTENCY. AND NOW 98% OF MY SHOTS SMOOTHLY DRAW 3-8 YARDS! THANK YOU JEROME AND INSTRUCTOR !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

There are a few things beginner golfers must come to grasp with: - we don’t scoop to get the ball in the air, - the impact “position” is different from the setup “position”, - there is an element of arms lift in the backswing so there must be an element arms drop in the downswing, - understanding the ball flight laws and d-plane theory, and - not forgetting to use your athleticism to propel the ball as the other information can be overwhelming.

He's a good talker. Not bad way to learn supination in the beginning. What he's saying about the pro and generating speed isn't 100 correct. You can rotate as fast as you want it won't do much if the weight moves back in to his right leg like he is doing. Look at how much weight stays back when the teaching pro hits it. Rotation you see on tour is forces moving into the ground then pushing back up pushing the hip back. I'd also be careful trying to hit the ball that way if your someone who works in an office everyday your mobility won't allow you to do that. You will start hooking balls like you shaw the first few shots.

Happy Easter! Just a quick question - does Mile have you setting up with a slightly open stance for most shots - or when you are doing the drills? Have a mate who played pretty much open all the time - short swing, open hips - boom.

Hi Jerome. Just discovered your channel & very gripped by the fundamentals in your lessons that you’re are teaching as you’re learning. It is appreciated. Where is the weight distribution of you feet at each stage of the punch shot?
@Pur33stPk3r
@Pur33stPk3r Жыл бұрын
This is what works for me - For the drill, weight centered. When you're in normal stance, the body has to get quite a bit towards the target. Almost like there's a wall that you're trying to get your left hip to, towards the target. (Don't let the shoulder fall BACK, push them through to the target just like your hips. Once you mess around you should start to fill which pressure shift gives you solid contact. Rinse and repeat.

Hey Jerome 🙂, i have just found your channel and i am intrigued to see how you get along with your progress , i am what can only be described as a " beginner golfer " but that is despite being fairly reasonable at the sport / hobby some 25 years ago before it all went to pot and resulted in me coming away from the game , despite this a few weeks ago i bought myself a set of clubs and joined my local golf course as a new member , i have to admit that my game now can only be described as atrocious , but my plan is to follow all your videos and see if they cant help resolve my torment 🙂i wish you luck and will follow your journey with interest as a new subscriber ...... This is exactly how Jon Rahm won the 2023 Masters! But, I never understood golf instructors obsession with draw shots. I think Rahmbo hit one draw in the final round!
@ratboy4347
@ratboy4347 Жыл бұрын
The obsession with a draw shot is because most players getting lessons have a slice and this “pro” is clearly conning him by making him smile by giving him a super strong grip and a bowed wrist ultimately giving him a different shape of shot than a slice. Easy money for him. For me his set up is wrong. Too strong of a grip too far away from the ball too much tension resulting in no lag in his swing. I’m sorry but I hate these instructors doing all this mechanical bs to con people at $50 an hour or whatever it is because they can hit a draw. It’s pathetic and makes me angry. Go do yourself a favour and read Ernest jones swing the club head and read the five fundamentals by Ben hogan. Stay away from these people.

@donarchambeault4547

The body rotation squares the club. The release happens after impact. This compresses the ball and it flys off the face. I’ve done this drill and it increased my smash factor considerably.
@ratboy4347
@ratboy4347 Жыл бұрын
😂😂😂 no it does not… the hands slowing down releases the club and generates speed caused by lag. The hands slow down and the club catches up. No way in 10 million years you can play good golf by holding your wrist like this guy is telling you to. You’ll have arthritis in a year.
@ShockSlice

Mike is obviously a great teacher but he hasn't addressed the one fundamental flaw in Jerome's swing - his intention. They're working to overcome this flaw with drills and things but it would be much easier to change the intention of the swing in Jerome's brain. Until he does that, improving will be very difficult. What flaw am I talking about? The simple misconception that swinging toward the target will send the ball that way. What? Yeah, you must swing in a direction and a circle isn't a direction ... and it's not toward the target. That's not how a golf club works.
@ratboy4347
@ratboy4347 Жыл бұрын
Your hands have to slow down for the club face to square up that’s what he’s trying to say. This nonsense about keeping the wrist bowed and setting up like he’s getting you to is garbage. You need softer hands and to be more relaxed and generate lag. That super strong grip is going to kill your game. That man is going to kill your game. Trust me he’s conning you.
