Oh. Forgot to say how valuable the PDF is with the links to the videos. I read the words - get confused; watch the 'indoor' talking video - understand much better; watch the 'outdoor' doing video - kerching! Alles klar! Go back to the text and I am no longer confused. Brilliant teaching.

Only doctors dissect (methodically cut up (a body, part, or plant) in order to study its internal parts) but you do it so well with the golf swing, that at 72, I now hit 250 yards straight in the middle of the field 90% + of the time. At my first reading of The position, I did not understand well all of what you wrote, but as I progressed, it all fit to its place . Nieman and Mcilroy picture's says it all. Note: I was putting for an eagle this Saturday. I was so excited to be there in two, that I end up making a par. Thank you doctor Taylor. LOL

I've tried everything, bowing my wrist, you name it. But I always end up early extending, standing up, and coming across the ball. This is the best most concise explanation of what exactly is happening at impact. The importance of shoulder tilt and how to "rotate" through the ball. Thank you so much.

Mr. Taylor, Thanks for being such a great "teacher'. Many can play the game well, but struggle to explain. I recently watched your "hand path" video and my head exploded. Your hand path explanation opened up many new levels of thinking on my golf swing. I went back and looked at online touring pros and could finally 'see' their hand path. Never saw it before because I'd never been taught how it works. My range sessions since then have been staggeringly good. Thank you. Now with this video and shoulder plane matching the swing plane another world has opened up. It's very exciting. Just purchased your PDF and am VERY excited to read, apply and execute. I hope you are very aware of how many coaches online/in person talk a LOT and communicate very little. You are quite unique.

For years I was frustrated to the point of giving up the game because I had worked so hard (Self taught) and put in so much time into every other position (e.g. setup, takeaway, backswing, downswing and follow through) but I showed little to no improvement in my contact especially with my irons. It wasn't until I saw your video "6 Exercises to anchor your golf swing" that things drastically changed for the better. This video along with your transition series of videos changed everything in my swing and my game. Yes, I had seen thousands of videos on YT with other instructors but I now realize that someone telling you to get into a certain position without explaining and providing the drills to get into that position is futile. Anyway thanks for what you do and please keep it up.

I have been advised to get my trail shoulder as far down as possible, but it seemed counter-intuitive, event hough when I did it usually worked. Suddenly it made sense in my head when you pointed out that it meant my lead shoulder was going up at the same time! Oh my! It's one of those wonderful ideas that was SO obvious... but only AFTER you told me! A big thank you for helping to get my brain out of the way of my body and not butting in with negative comments about how I was bound to hit the ground. I think that although I knew I was supposed to keep my trail shoulder down I didn't really believe it would work. Now I do! I love the physiology. I also love the odd little bit of German pronunciation. Vielen Dank!

I really like that you focus on the downswing. So many (especially on KZfaq) focus on the backswing. To my knowledge, no one ever hits the ball with the backswing. Thanks 🙏🏻 I think the challenge is going from the backswing (with your arm depth, left shoulder down and hips turned to the right) to the IMPACT position (with right shoulder down and hips opened to the left) in that fraction of a second the downswing takes 🤔 Its an even bigger challenge if you’re quick and rush the downswing. It takes a while to get from here to there.

Amazing stuff! I'm currently working on all of this in my swing movements -- I think one of the "key" things you mention is the mental "apprehension" to the feeling of hitting the ground first -- it's so important to get the feeling of keeping the right arm bent as you say here. I was digging the club into the ground in the downswing before I was able to really understand this relationship -- still a work in progress here but it is so important to understand and trust this concept. Cheers!

You've really explained this move well and it all makes more sense to me now. I had just seen another video on this shoulder rotation around the spine and was starting to try to work on that. I played last week and was having a bad day with my ball striking and remembered that video. I tried to really concentrate on making that movement and it resulted in one of the purest, crispest iron shot I have ever hit. It was a seven iron that I caught perfectly and it went about 170 yards. My "normal " 7 iron maxes out at about 155 at best. I had trouble reproducing that move that day but it really stuck with me that's how a real golf swing is supposed to feel. Your video has reinforced that and I will continue to work on this so this will be my norm, or die trying!

Game changer indeed. This swing will be very hard on your lower back and likely land you in physical therapy or worse. The swings of the pro's is not what should be taught or attempted by the club player. Whats needed is instruction that is not only practical but safe as well.

You go where you look. If you look to the target too soon, people have a tendency to pull the arms left too soon. Keeping your eyes down assist with keeping the club moving straight towards the target.

Very good as usual! About the comment below having the hips more open then shoulders at impact I would assume that if you try to hit draw it might be true ( shoulder lagging) this way you hit more from inside but again I assume this is very depending on both swing plane vs face angle at the point of impact
@JonathanTaylor63
@JonathanTaylor63 3 жыл бұрын
At impact your shoulders should always be behind your hips but open to the target. Many still believe they should keep their shoulders and chest square to the target line until impact which would stop them being able to use their arms and hands properly.
@sshadow2

When I let my head rotate towards target increases the likelihood of a slice. Keeping head back, as if looking at ball behind actual ball straightens it out.
