Mittens our Legacy GT build is one step closer to turn key ready, and in this episode, we tackle the best fuel pump hardwire kit for your Subaru, and show you, in-depth, how to install it into your vehicle.
Fuel pumps require a certain amount of voltage to run properly, and if you aren't supplying your fuel pump with what it needs, it won't run at the levels you or your tuner want it to, this in the end leaves you with the inability to reach your power goals and can have you driving back home from your tune frustrated and wondering why your car didn't make the power you thought it would.
This is part two of our proper fuel setup guide, a walk-through for the iWire Hardwire kit in our BP Chassis Legacy.

With the rear interior apart, if you have a sunroof, now is the time to make sure the hose isn't clogged! Especially since Mittens has been sitting for some time now! That goes to all sunroof owners doing this as well! Also a good time to check the equalization vents for debris if mice are an issue. Otherwise, great stuff! Also loving how little rust you guys get there. I absolutely despise the rustbelt, but I sadly have nowhere to move to lmao.
@MatlasDI

Definitely some good info! Sunroof drains love to clog and the rears are definitely a lot less enjoyable to get to 👌👌she's got a little rust around the battery from corrosion, but otherwise pretty good. Rust belt is tough 😔 seen so many mangled cars come through.

@@MatlasDI speaking of batteries, what battery are you using? It's mighty small! I like it, but I definitely wouldn't have the CCAs that are required here in the great lakes area

@@Awkward_Fox it's an odyssey pc680. Works super well for how tiny it is, but doesn't do the best if left sitting more than a week or so (but I guess neither do subaru factory batteries 😅) Made it through winters in the outback without issue.

Nice, I went and dug around on eBay after you mentioned that and did find one. I'm just curious how much different WRX/STI ones from that era and even from like 2008-2014 are really any different? You the man Matt! And saying your prompt is a under statement!!!
@MatlasDI
@MatlasDI Жыл бұрын
Thanks man. I know for bp chassis the gr chassis is very similar all around. Tanner and I compared everything from the strut tower design back through the firewall and they only have subtle changes. So those are probably the best bet. Easiest thing to do would be to pull up a picture of stock and the stis and see if mounting holes appear different, but there are a lot of little intricacies to other items that may get in the way so it will always be a bit of a gamble.

😂😂 It took a bit for sure, but it was easier than I was making it out to be in my head. I think if I wasn't filming, it would have taken maybe 4 hours or so start to finish. I have to do this on 2 other cars so I'll get plenty of practice 😵‍💫😵👌

@@DarkWolfWRX trust me I feel the struggle, I am getting better at being more myself, but it takes a lot of practice; shooting a lot is helping, but if I take a couple days between shoots I have to work back through the nerves all over again, and obviously in the final cuts you miss the retakes, me saying "dood the hell are you saying?!", and other funny fails 🤣 I was a service advisor for 8 years and actually left my job to pursue this and other passions this last month, so I would have thought it would have helped, but it's completely different. Any reason you didn't mount the grey switch in the rear and use chassis ground?
@MatlasDI

The smaller grey switch is the circuit breaker for battery positive. So the kit is designed to have it mounted close to the battery where you can quickly get to it if need be.

@@lgt304 you could always run the radium one, just doesn't have as many features and it's not as plug and play. Otherwise I'm sure someone would buy the iwire kit as it isn't vehicle specific so there's more people out there to pick it up off you.
